Very fun date day/night. I am not an "art person" myself but everything was staged in a way where all can enjoy. Was a really fun afternoon and as new showcases come in we will be sure to return.

This museum has a great collections. The impressionists paintings are particularly amazing. You could spend hours there and still not see the half of it. The outdoor sculptures are fantastic. One of the best museums in the country.
The check in process could have gone faster. The gift shop selection wasn’t overwhelming. But besides that this is a great stop if you are visiting KC.

Visited the week before Thanksgiving. I was surprised that the museum was free, but they did accept donations. I was impressed by the wide variety of art from all continents. The museum was larger than I thought and I was there for 5 hours, but then I like to read most of the exhibits on display. I didn't park there as the museum was a short walk from my hotel at the Embassy Suites. The museum also had a cafe where I got a coffee and some snacks during a break.
The museums exhibits included extensive art work, artifacts and statues covering multiple centuries of work. There were also several sculptures and works of art on the grounds for touring outside. If you are in KC, consider spending several hours at this museum because you won't be disappointed.

Love visiting museums when I'm traveling. I was recently in KC and decided to stop in to the Nelson-Atkins. I'm so glad I did. This is a very impressive museum. It's rather large with tons of varying types of art. There is a very extensive and impressive modern art collection on the lower level. There is also lots of sculptures and art on the grounds outside the building. There is an older stately building and a new modern wing as well. Overall, I was very impressed with the museum. Highly recommend a visit.

Me tocó disfrutarlo poco por estar de paso por trabajo pero que lugar bellísimo. Tanto el edificio del museo como el parque y jardín de alrededor repleto de obras de arte.

I've been to many of the fine art museums in the Midwest, and to me the Nelson-Atkins is by far the best. There's something about the layout of the Bloch Galleries that really adds to the flow of the building. I go almost every month and always find something new.

Check to see when guides are giving tours for a more interesting experience. They know their art but won't overload you with too much information.

We had a great experience at this museum. The exhibits and displays are state-of-the-art (I said Art). Lighting and informational signage were great, the flow efficient, and the art itself well presented. I really liked the Asian art, especially the temples. And, the Caravaggio dazzled me.
The entire facility was impressive. I hope to return soon.

Parking is underground and is super clean and convenient and you can walk directly into the modern art section from the lot, through sliding glass doors. You can also park on the street. You will see many parked cars on the street as you enter the underground parking. Parking underground is 7 dollars. On the street is popular, so you may or may not have to wait for a spot to open up. You can find parking on the street always, if you are willing to walk far enough.

The MAX (Metro Area Express) runs north and south to all the main destinations. It stops at 45th and Main, and you can walk east past the Kansas City Art iInstitute to the Nelson-Atkins
