We recently had a family birthday dinner at the new Lovat Avalon, firstly the staff were welcoming, perfessional and the food tasty although poorly presented with lengthy wait times between courses. Unfortunately the restaurant was drab and dismal. The light fittings were old and mismatched. The place lacked freshness and and any ambience whatsoever. The entrance was grubby, glass door and stairs were not clean. One couple had travelled over three hours expecting a similar dining experience to Lovat Newport, however no comparison! Overall a very expensive and highly disappointing evening.

A lovely beach. There was not much of waves today. Nice to have a swim. Very clean. The was a lifeguard on duty. A fun day at the beach

A beautiful beach with a really nice lido / rock pool on its southern end. Just a few minutes from Avalon village where there are many nice cafes and restaurants. A great place to spend a day, a weekend or a week on holiday.

This beach was beautiful and accessible to all but since about 2015 the redevelopment of the surf club means that the beautiful amenities have been ruined.
I see too that the council has let out the beach front south of the horrid american concrete surfclub to a private caterer so that the relaxed vibe snd accessibility to all is going going gone. The waiting tree and the other pines which have always been a place to checkout the beach and sit and watch it are costing money nowadays.
The sand is dirty, the overdeveloped surfclub means the beach is degraded and more development is coming. . . Courtesy of council and the northern beaches worst surfclub dominated by americanised bosses.
Go elsewhere, with less cement and where the encroachment of developers is less obvious.

My town maybe small but it’s better than your’s will ever be m8te now back off ok. & I’ve lived here since 2013 I think it’s pretty darn fantastic ok now if u want to come back here tourist u better start beening postive about the whole thing ok.

Not the best sand but the steep slope makes it good for views of the water. Often good waves but a nice place to swim.

Excellent beach, close to shops. A small but popular rockpool can be found at the Southern end near the surf club. A very pretty beach to visit and popular with surfers. Parking can be found at the northern and southern ends of the beach, but is very popular during the summer months. A lawn area at the northern end near the school is a good picnic spot. Keep an eye out for Superb Wrens on the paths from the lawn through to the beach

Upper Northern Beaches of Sydney. Great for surfing ( boards, surf skis, paddle boards), good for body surfing and ok for family swimming but as it can have rips and unpredictable currents pick the right time and day. Swim and stay between flags and look out for ‘beach closed’ signs.

I may be a little bias here as I live in Avalon beach and have done since 2003.
It has been likened to a mini Byron bay, which is a fair description. Just 1 hour north of Sydney the beach is pristine and the village is a hive of activity. There are some great shops to browse through and a plethora of cafe's and great places for dinner. There's a cinema, several bars and a Woolies supermarket, plus 2 bottle shops in the village.
It's a great place to spend a weekend in the many AIRBNB options around the village. Highly recommend.

Great spot on the coast. Enjoyed the beach and shops, but be careful as most of the parking spots are $10 per hour

Not sure about hiring a car in Avalon, doubtful, but Manly, further south, for sure.

I would like to see exactly its location. A view of the outside of the property,as I am familiar with the surf side appartments, and I would like to stay there if possible

Unsure of apartments. We stopped in there for a photo opportunity and to have a loom around the beach. The signs said Avalon Beach, so I assume this is correct
