My sisters dads side of the family owns this place so i go every other weekend and we bring friends ALL the time, we are proud to say that our friends LOVE this place. I will also be racing in 2 years so check that out!!!

Owned by the Schrader family, this is the pinnacle of home town racing. This race track has been in use since being erected by the romans for chariot racing, and most of the people reading this review probably haven't noticed that romans should be capitalized. 16 oz. beer is served in aluminum bottles, 12 oz. beer is served in cans for $4 and $3 respectively, and compared to almost any other sport venue in the St. Louis area, $12 for admission and $20 for a bucket of beer with ice is the equivalent of a college scholarship. On any visit you will be treated to free souvenir mud if you sit in the first few rows along the fence in the corners, so you may wish to bring ear protection and safety glasses. We did not notice any mosquitos, and it is presumed that they were all shot down in flight by the high amount of pelletized dirt flying through the air through out most of the evening (I dare say it would be easier to cross I-55 in a wheelchair during rush hour than to navigate a normal sized mosquito through the airspace above the racetrack during the races). Women in large hats are advised avoid this attraction, unless you chose to sit in the back. These fans are here to see a race, and you really wouldn't want to make these patrons uncomfortable in an effort to make a fashion statement.

Had not been there in years so decided to take the Grandsons for a night out. Still just as exciting as it was in the past. Grandsons really enjoyed themselves. The only complaint I had was they only sell Coors products. Very different since we are in Budweiser land. other than that its a great option for a Saturday Night.

Family Fun

Excitement, races, spills and thrills await you at the I-55 Speedway! This is an incredible place if you like your hair to stand on end watching crashes, if you love the sound of big engines and the smell of high performance fuel mixtures. Top that with hot dogs, soda, popcorn, and pickles and it's a fun filled night! We loved every minute there. Be sure to bring something soft to sit on, sunscreen and a hat. Don't let kids roam around unattended by an adult as this is a big, big place. Other than that, come on down for excitement and lots of thrills!!

great little race track!

We were at the track for the Ironman 55 Sprint race. Awesome is all I can say. Been to a LOT of dirt tracks and this is now one of my favorites. Will definitely be back again.

Exceptional Sprint Car Racing

WOW! Fast and racy with passing in every corner on every lap. Good food and friendly staff. A must see for die hard dirt track fans.

Phenomenal track! Decent weekly show and the specials are great. Seeing the World of Outlaw Sprints are a must at I-55!!

Only wish tickets were cheaper.

Always wanted to go

We were going to Six Flags on a Sunday and we decided to go a day early and go to the racetrack.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had my wife, mother and two teenagers - they didn't enjoy it as much as I did. As the night came upon us, it got cold. I would suggest taking some fleece covers/blankets. They are lightweight and they make decent seat cushions and keeps your bottom from sitting on the cold aluminum. Plus, you could use them to wrap up also.

The concession food is good and not that expensive. Take your earplugs.

I'm going to try it again, taking some seat covers and fleece blankets. I feel it's a great family entertainment value.

Stay away from the fence while they are running. My wife was coming back from the concession stand with food in hand. There was a caution and she thought she could make it back - she didn't quite make it and had some dirt/mud get on her.
