No one responded to my question so we went not knowing the answer so I wanted to share what I learned. At the entrance gate, you tap to get a ticket. You can pay at for parking (which was $12) inside the Science Center when you pay for the omimax and/or exhibit tickets OR if you do not pay for any tickets, there is a kiosk to the left of the entrance doors to pay for the parking. Then you scan the ticket at the gate on the way out of the parking lot.

Yes, there is a cafeteria area in which you can eat. You can bring in your own food/lunches.

It’s just across the skyway over the Interstate. There are exhibits the whole way.

Often there are special events, which add an hour or two to your visit. Check out membership prices, it gives you free parking, free tickets to the Omnimax theater and the planetarium. This is an destination that you can spend all day at or just a couple of hours, Don't forget the summer "agriculture area." This may be our favorite attraction in town.
