We did the drive through Christmas light experience. We were very glad that they had a couple of the Clydesdales out in the paddock. The lights were beautiful, and the Busch house was beautifully lit, and we got to drive right by it. Definitely a worthwhile experience.

Grant's Farm is a really interesting place! It is a petting zoo that houses the Budweiser Clydesdales, which are just beautiful horses. We got the package where we would be able to brush them and that was such a fun experience! They were so docile and sweet and you really don't understand how large they are until you stand next to one. There is also a National Park site nearby (Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site) and that's really interesting to tour as well. They do events throughout the year too including Christmas lights and it's a really nice place to visit overall!

I visited Grant's farm with my husband and 11-year-old daughter. I wasn't sure if it would be interesting enough for her but we had a great time. The Fall Festival area was more directed toward younger kids, but the tram ride was relaxing and it was fun seeing the deer up close as we went through the Deer Park. The village area with the farm animals is really charming, with beautiful German-style buildings. The food was good and not too expensive. We really enjoyed our visit!

We did the Clydesdae tour and just had a great time. Jennifer was our tour guide and you can tell she enjoyed what she does. Lots of information was given and she answered all our questions. Fun way to spend an hour of your day. You get to get up close and personal with the horses. Good times!

a must see for St. Louis experience. 280 acres of farm with activities for kids involving interacting with animals.. I mean talk about getting close to nature. Some history of the farm which is narrated during the tram ride, which is how they take us around the place: built by Civil War Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, who settled on the land in 1855 to farm and raise cattle. In 1903, August A. Busch Sr. bought the land, and ever since it has belonged to the Busch family. The entry is free, only have to pay the parking fee of 16 $. Take a fun pass of 10 $ so you can get two feeds (milk bottle for feeding the goats, and feed for the deer), a carousel ride and a popsicle. The experience starts with a tram ride showing all their cool animals, deers, bison, cows, buffaloes, peacock etc. Feeding the goats looks cute, but damn they are greedy. They will bite on to your shoes, bag, they fight with each other to get their mouth on that bottle. I actually took my 4 year old outside the fence and fed them from there. You have to pay extra for the Camel ride if interested and feed stick for the parakeets. It’s really fun to do. We paid $12 for the summer night festival which is essentially music night while chilling with the free drinks. The drinks are free for everyone (two free drinks per head). We got lucky to see their 120th anniversary specials that happened this Labor Day weekend: a drone show from 9 to 9.30 pm, it’s truly an engineering marvel, to see the drones arrange and light ups as the US flag, Missouri state, Grant’s Farm etc.

We arrived at parking about 9:20 on a Friday morning. There was a steady line to get on a tram. Lots of families with younger children. The trams arrived one after the other and we had our guided tour through Deer Park and learned the history of the property and families. The tram went a little fast to see all the animals but I'm sure they were on a schedule to get people to the main area.
We had a 12 year old so passed by some of the petting zoo. He did enjoy the camel ride and feeding parakeets as well as seeing the animal displays.
We walked through the barn and saw some small horses and tack and carriages.
We had an 11:15 Clydesdale tour. So after an hour or so we got back on the tram and walked to the far end of parking where they keep the Clydesdales. Everyone can walk through and around the barn and there is a professional photo op outside.
We did the behind the scenes tour which was outstanding. Small group of no more than fourteen. Excellent guides, we had Bob.
We started in a small building where we checked in and were given a complimentary water or Budweiser. In the air conditioned building we had some history and background information before heading outside. We toured a couple of barns, learned a lot, had an opportunity to brush, interact with and photo op with a Clydesdale. The tour was about 75 minutes. It was one of the highlights of our St Louis visit.
Highly recommend for adults and older children.

You pay for parking; then entrance is free. There's a bike trail that runs right by it. You first get on a tram for a 20-minute guided tour of the larger grounds with information on the history and animals. Then you get off in the main attraction area where there are about 15 exhibits where you can feed baby goats or adult goats, see a show, ride a camel, feed parakeets, or just explore. We did the behind the scenes tour and got to pet a skink, feed camels, feed yaks, and see lemurs and tortoises. The main eating/drinking area offers 2 free drinks, basic food, a few horses, and a small fire museum. Great way to spend a couple hours. The guides tend to be energetic people in their 20s that want to please.

Great 2 hour stop for cheap family fun. Pay to park otherwise free. Many interesting animals to view including the Clydesdale. 2 free beers in the beer garden for adults. Nice stop.

Definitely worth visiting, all ages enjoyed it and loved seeing all the animals on the tram ride. It seemed like there were more animals roaming around than last time there about 11 years ago.

We almost skipped this for the zoo and I'm so glad we didn't.
Great price considering you only oay $18 to park. The tram tour is very informational and the animals get super close to you.
The kids all inclusive ticket is a great deal and our kids loved the goat feeding. The staff was amazing at accommodating our son who can't have food dyes, and instead of the popsicle included in the kids ticket, gave him an ice cream cone. It made his day and meant so much to us. Loved the 2 free beers (I don't even drink beer and liked the mango cart) and Clydesdales.
We spent 2 hours and could have stayed longer honestly if we weren't on a tight schedule.

Were you primarily in the stables? We were thinking of doing this soon, but it's really cold outside. It would be OK if we were in the stables, though, I think.

Though there are some outdoor portions, there is plenty indoors. The stables are actually adjacent to the main NHP.

My apologies for not answering sooner, Grants farm will open October 1 for a Drive Thru Halloween Fest. It is $40 per car.
If you do a search for Grant's Farm, it will give you the webpages for the Halloween Drive Thru.
This is the first time they will be open this year because of the virus.

How long would you say you need to fully enjoy grants farm? I only have a short time in St. Louis so im trying to plan accordingly.😊

A few good hours would be ok if you want to enjoy it without rushing. We did it first thing in the morning, then went to the Zoo. If you want to do every show and activity allow more time. Basically it’s a huge petting zoo with some great extras.
Can you be 16 and still get in without an adult?
