What the hell!!!???!! Stopped at 4:00 Wednesday afternoon eager to have a beer on our way to Miles City. Facebook, website, etc said you opened at 2:00. Change your hours to honestly reflect what’s going on.

This was my wife and my second trip to Baker, MT just to stop at Old Skool Brewery. And once again we weren't disappointed. I love this place and only wish I lived a little closer. They brew excellent beer with the added benefit of serving wine. It was a quick in and out for us but had a glass of my favorite beer - Rigid Kilt, filled a growler and had to hit the road. Waiting to get back when we can spend more time, enjoy some of their events and sit on the deck. Stop - you'll be glad you did!!!!

7 of us on a long driving trip from California were passing through Baker and saw this brewery and had to stop in. It's fantastic! Built inside an old schoolhouse, the owners (one of which we met) have fixed this up nicely and crafted some really tasty brews. The Scotch Ale is outstanding, the Pilsner as well. Actually every one of them was top notch. They have cornhole in the back, tables outside, and popcorn to munch on.

This place is a hidden gem! The beer is absolutely amazing as is the ambiance, staff, and bar games. We had a blast. Heather is a doll... be sure to tip her well!

This place is top notch. We heard from someone that they got there and it was closed, but that the owner was just stopping in for an errand and opened up the joint. Well, same thing happened to us. The owner opened up, we sat drank awesome craft beer with the owner, had the place to ourselves, bought some great swag. Worth the stop even thought its out on the border.

My wife and I ended a short road trip into Montana with a stop at the Old Skool Brewery. What a great find. One of the coolest breweries I've been to. Shortly after walking thru the doors we were greeted by Josh and his wife (co-owners). Along with making us feel very welcome Josh took the time to give us a tour. You could tell by his enthusiasm he is very excited and proud of the brewery. After this I had a couple of their brews. The Rigid Kilt Scottish Ale was excellent - one of the best I've tasted. Had to fill a growler to take back home. Can't wait to get back there in the summer to enjoy their new deck.
Another plus is the fact that they also serve wine. My wife isn't a beer drinker so it was nice that she was able to enjoy a glass of wine.
If you get a chance to stop at Old Skool make sure you do - you won't be disappointed!!!!

On previous stops in Baker, I've been very disappointed by the lack of any Montana beer - and there are some good ones. Much to my surprise on this trip - I discovered a brewery! It was too early on my eastbound trip, but westbound I was there in the afternoon. Well, it doesn't open until 4:00, but the brewmeister saw me, noticed the out-of-town license plate and let me in. They allow ample tasting of their brews and I found an excellent IPA. There's no food at present, but they are planning some special events. For example, their spent grain is given to a farmer to fatten up cattle. They'll have an event where they grill some of this beef and serve the beer made from that spent grain. Fun! It's funded by a couple of families in Baker - look for some great things from Old Skool!

Old school house with tables on the deck. On the door "Old Skool Brewery. Had to stop and check it out. We walked in and we were met by the owner who told us the bar was closed but come on in and he would serve us. Wow what a greeting! The inside of this skool house brewery is amazing. Barn wood on the walls, wood floors, tile. My favorite was the bar. The owner has done all the woodwork him self. Even down to the handles on the taps. I was very impressed with his hard work and woodworking. And the beer was fantastic. If you're in Baker stop by and check it out.
