Five stars isn't enough for this wonderful wolf tracking company. I fully recommend joining these guys for your wildlife watching experience in Yellowstone.
It is unlike a regular ' Wildlife Safari' because this outfit is run by scientists, experts in their field, which creates an atmosphere of passion and knowledge. It is obvious that they live and breathe Yellowstone's wolves and wildlife. And you become part of that, wrapped up in the fabric of an amazing landscape.
The guides were informative, energising and inclusive. The food provided was top class. The educational speakers were engaging and enlightening.
Excellent value for money.
All round, superb experience and I will most definitely return!

I have Just returned from another incredible trip, my 17th over the years, and each time I say, "It was the best one yet!" A total immersion into the vast ecosystem of Yellowstone to see the wolves and other animals on the landscape this time of year. Yes, this is a journey that will touch your soul, and you'll never forget that one primal voice of the wolf. When they howl, you will probably cry like many of us do. The guides, Jamie and Michelle, know everything possible about the wolves and the ecosystem. The highest professionalism, knowledge, and service ever! I'm already looking ahead to my next trip! This was an adventure of a lifetime and I knew traveling with a knowledgeable company would give me the best opportunity to really make the best of it. I chose Yellowstone Wolf Tracker because I knew the owner is an avid supporter of wildlife and was instrumental in bringing the wolves back to Yellowstone. Dr. Nathan Varley is well known in "wolf circles" for being one of the best authorities on wolves in Yellowstone, I was NOT disappointed! Our guide Michael was an experienced guide able to find the wolves and most of the other wildlife in Northwest Yellowstone. We viewed the Mollies pack in Lamar Valley as they harassed 5 bison that had wandered into their area. No kill was made as the bull bison were "protecting" their ladies.
Each morning (3) at 630am without fail Michael was waiting for us outside our cabin and drove us into the park with all kinds of information and facts regarding the park and the wolves. Temps were mid 20's and either foggy or snowy and the first day we struggled with no wolf sightings but were entertained by a pack of healthy coyotes on a kill. The next two days we found wolves (at a great distance) but with scopes and telephotos and binocs we were able to watch the wolves for well over an hour.
This is truly an American Safari and our very own wildlife specialists giving us the time of our life. We are ready to go again. You will never get tired of this kind of adventure. I highly recommend Yellowstone Wolf Tracker!!

What an absolutely memorable and magical experience. Both the owner, Nathan, and our guide, Michael were gems. We so enjoyed getting to know them both.
Michael, our guide, was so informative on all the animals, Yellowstone, and especially the wolves. He knew exactly where to look for the wolves, and he was so good at spotting them. We also got to see bison, coyotes, and mountain goats. Michael is also a kind hearted individual and totally catered the trip to our needs. We even got videos afterwards of the wolves that we saw to help us remember our special moments viewing the wolves. I’ve come away from the trip feeling even more bonded and protective of the land and wolves. Thank you so much! I would do the adventure again in a heart beat.

We had a spectacular time with Wolf Trackers: Nathan, Michelle and Jamie. Amazing Wildlife Biologists that are a wealth of information on all topics related to the animal life and geological formations in Northern Yellowstone Park. Wonderful wildlife experiences, up close and centered between the Bison, Elk, Pronghorn Antelope and amazing vistas of Bears foraging and wolves in the wild. Definitely beautiful, colorful and open Big Sky Country. NOT to be missed!! Will return again.

I cannot say enough good things about Yellowstone Wolf Tracker. Everything was great from start to finish. We saw several wolves as well as black and grizzly bears and many, many more of Yellowstone's creatures. The guides were absolutely excellent and besides seeing the wolves and the wonders of the park, I learned SO MUCH. I'd been to Yellowstone many times over the years but found even more to discover thanks to Yellowstone Wolf Tracker.

Our guide Michael was an excellent. He was very informative about the park, the animals, and most importantly, where to see them. We were able to see wolves, which was such a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend Wolf Tracker!

We were visiting Montana & Yellowstone from the UK and hoped to see wolves, decided to book a trip with Yellowstone Wolf Tracker and had the most fantastic time. Luke, our guide, surprised us by not heading to the Lamar Valley but instead headed up the Hayden Valley because they believed the Lamar Wolf Pack had recently moved out and there were 2 carcasses in the Hayden Valley that were more promising. Our luck was in and not only were there wolves at a carcass but they were discussing ownership with a Grizzly Bear. We watched them for well over an hour showing lots of fantastic behaviour including seeing the younger wolves playing. All the guides commented on how fortunate we were that day to see both apex predators plus a short visit by a Golden Eagle. We went to various other places, saw lots more wildlife, Coyotes on a carcass and one swimming in the river, 2 Bison having a "who's the fittest male" standoff and a Northern Harrier catch and rip apart it's catch. Our guide was friendly, very knowledgeable and we had the best time and copies of the images & videos he Digi scoped were an unexpected bonus.

My husband and I did a morning trip with Yellowstone Wolf Tracker. We really wanted to see wolves and they delivered! We spent about 20-30 mins watching 3 wolves in Lamar Valley. The scopes they had were great and our guide Rebecca was very knowledgeable. We had a great time and will recommend this company to friends we know heading to the park.

Despite the poor weather we enjoyed our tour with Quinn. He eventually found a wolf after much searching, it was a black pup about a mile away but we could see it clearly with Quinn's scope. We also saw bison, coyotes and pronghorn.
This was our first outing into Yellowstone and it was a great introduction. Quinn was very knowledgeable and provided us with a great insight into the animals in the park as well as the background to the park.

Yes! Spring in Yellowstone represents a wildlife homecoming and extravaganza of sorts. I've long believed the month of May to be one of the best months of the year for seeing wildlife in Yellowstone. The park service aims to open the interior roads each April by the 21st, which opens up the opportunity to travel down to Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone the days following or proceeding your wildlife tour. Yes, they operate in Winter. In fact that's the best time to see wolves. I have a friend going with them in December! There's ample accommodation available in Gardiner. Good luck!

We have taken tours with Wolf Tracker twice and both times exceeded our expectations. Our guide on both trips was Evan (I requested him the second time) and he is extremely knowledgeable, personable and passionate about his work. Both trips were in the winter, one in February with eight people and one in March with four people. Both times the vehicle was comfortable and the food provided was perfect for a "brunch in the snow". The tours start between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. as that is the optimal wildlife viewing time. The only thing a guest needs to do to have the best possible experience is to follow Wolf Tracker's guidelines on what to wear, what to bring, and what to read to be informed and enhance your experience; the guide will do the rest. By the end of the day all in our group were planning their next trip -- that speaks volumes!

Are there any service providers that you know of that match people together to make a large wildlife viewing party? $625 won't work for the 3 of us, but we could afford the prices quoted for a bigger group if splitting evenly amongst us. Thanks.
