I had always gotten the impression that there was little to this park other than a boat dock and a few campsites. I was wrong. Yeah there is no pool or mini golf and the store is quite small. But the trail system and the beach area are both awesome. Due to the weather I didn't spend much time at the beach area but it look awesome. Nice large beach with lots of parking. I spent quite a bit of time walking the trails which were freshly cut and nice and wide. The park was very well maintained-tree branches were cut so paths and roadways were clear. The other thing that amazed me was the sure number of places there were to shore fish. Usually at the prov parks I find you have to look around and finding any spot is difficult.

Nice park on the northern part of Lake Diefenbaker with beautiful, sandy beaches and a great campgrounds. We didn't stay here, just drove through and checked it out for another time, but did stop and walk around and will definitely be back to stay when around this area again. Lovely place!

We travelled to Danielson Provincial Park from Saskatoon. The road after the junction of highway #15 and #219 is absolutely terrible!!! We could do only 50 k/h max as the road is so bumpy and narrow. By the time we got there everything in our trailer looked like it had been thrown up, down and sideways. And when we got to the park gates we were informed that that there is a fire ban. Hey nobody wants a forest fire! But we had checked their website before we left and it was not posted. We wouldn’t have gone at all if we knew.
We did go to the sand dunes at Douglas and they were cool! Worth a trip for sure. Take plenty of water as it is a four mile hike.

We met up with our daughter and her fam for the long weekend.
Danielson is a great family park!
Great amenities , location (1 hour from Saskatoon and 1 1/2 hours from Moose Jaw) the lake is awesome , very clean warm water.
Depending on when you go there are 100's of miles of beach.
Boat launch is a good one.
Oh yeah plenty of fish in this lake!!
Check it out!!

Located on the lovely Lake Diefenbacker this provincial park offers lots to see and do. There are beaches as well as an interpretive center for the nearby Gardiner Dam. If you are in central Saskatchewan this is somewhere to go.

Camp sites are massive! Totally different camping than I'm used to in Alberta and B.C.
Free showers, clean bathrooms. Just try to pick a time when they're not busy like before dinner or after dark for your shower or you'll be waiting.
DIFFERENT
People seemed to be using Christmas lights to mark the back border of their campsite. Plus it lit up the area really nice.
Mosquitoes were a bit of a problem. Despite the hot weather I found the best answer was to wear pants and a sweater around the site.
Lake was awesome. Lots of beaches to drive to and even better ones you can boat to.
Store seems to be updated this year. More variety and well stocked. They ran out of ice but friends of ours brought their own electric ice maker as almost all sites there are electric.
Fantastic campground worth the drive.
