I expected to find some special gambler things and books, but unfortunately it's just another souvenir shop.
They're selling the same things as in every souvenir shop in Downtown or at the Strip. Their offer of books is very limited.
The book I was looking for was in their magazine, but they didn't want to go to take it. They would call me about it. Never heard of them anymore.
In the end, I bought the book at the airport.

Having read about the Gamblers General Store on a few blogs im glad we took a drive up here on a quiet day.
It's literally a gamblers / souvenirs paradise! Everything from books on Gambling, Poker techniques etc. to actual casino chips used in the casinos on the strip. You can even purchase slot machines that were once in the strip casinos.
The prices on things like Magnets, Mugs etc. is very competitive as it doesn't seem to get filled with tourists unlike your standard run of the mill shops. (i.e We got a mug and it was $3 more on the strip)
We were visiting from the UK and would of had an issue getting it home otherwise I'd of picked up a slot machine as the prices were very competitive!

The Gambler's Book Shop is a place to go for all things gambling. They have almost everything you could need for learning how to gamble, especially for beginners. You can purchase books on every imaginable subject, cards, dice, souvenirs, posters, pictures of famous people and entertainers, table top layouts for craps, poker, blackjack. Something for everyone.

Fun times for all. I dropped my wife and daughter off at Premium Outlets North and then proceeded to The Gambler's Book Shop which was only 5 min drive away.
If you want to read/pick up on any gambling topic...this is your place.
They have a full wall of Poker books, classic tin signs for your cave, a small cafe in the back of the shop. I lost track of time reading up on casino surveillance....I always wondered what they did.
If you want to pick up gambling items...this this place (dice, cards, chips, layouts, almost everything you need to run your own "casino".
If you want to read/pick up on any gambling topic...this is your place.

[This is a review of both the Gamblers General Store and Gamblers Book Shop as they are now one and the same and the General Store does not have an individual TA listing.]
I’ve gone half a dozen trips knowing about the Gamblers General Store – thinking it a Mecca for gaming supplies – but not making a visit. I did this time and was very disappointed.
It’s chock full of stuff but most of it was tourist merchandise that you’d find in any on-Strip gift store.
I may not have felt that way if I hadn’t just been to Spinetti’s opposite, which is a much more authentic gaming supplies store.
You can go to both, they are yards apart, but if you’ve just got time for one, I’d recommend Spinetti’s.

The store is unassuming and easy to miss. Upon entering, you are bombarded with the amount of stuff displayed. There were hundreds of types of decks of cards. The amount of gaming chips was staggering! We browsed for 30 minutes, picking things up, turning them over, putting them down. It was alot of fun.

We have been stopping this place for the past 15 years, plenty of good books, cards, gambling supplies and little trinkets, even have real Craps and Blackjack tables for sale. The help is always friendly. If you enjoy reading or playing cards at kitchen table then you must stop in.

Fand den Laden dank Navi ziemlich schnell. Von Außen ist er ein wenig runtergekommen und man hat das Gefühl, es wäre geschlossen (ggf. einmal rumgehen, weil dort gerade gebaut / umgebaut wird, Sept. 2014). Innen ist er ziemlich imposant. Die Billigware kann angefasst und mitgenommen werden. Die etwas qualitat bessere Ware befindet sich in den Glasschränken unter Verschluß und man muss immer einen Verkäufer rufen. Die sind aber sehr sehr nett.

A purely niche venue, the Gambler's Book Shop has MERGED with another business establishment and RELOCATED to 800 South Main Street in Las Vegas. (702) 382-9903

The Book Shop has a very extensive collection of new, old, and used books and a great deal more; e.g. a seemingly endless display of various playing cards sold individually or in wholesale lots.
While there I observed a purchase of nearly $8,000 (cash) for high quality Casino Chips by two gentlemen, barely able to communicate with the proprietors, who were anything but legitimate Casino Operators.
For hard-core gamblers this is a very interesting venue to browse.

It's really hard to find a bookstore in this town, but this one is worth seeking out. I've never found a bookstore that featured almost exclusively books devoted to every facet of gambling and Las Vegas life. Art Snyder's "Topless Guide to Las Vegas" is well worth the price if you want to understand strip shows, topless joints, topless pools and adult-themed shows. Great resource.
