If you like to fish and you want to go our for the day or a half a day, give this guy / company a try. He is very smart and knows how to catch fish. The weather was good and we had a blast. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to do something outside.

We just finished an afternoon fishing trip with Cameron and had an amazing time! Cameron was great engaging the kids and getting them fishing. We caught 21 fish and could not have had a better experience. Thanks Cameron for a great afternoon!

I enjoyed the trip, your group, and the nice weather. The bluefish made a good showing and we cpatialized. Thanks for choosing Tradition and tell Wyatt I need a pair of cool glasses.

We booked with Cameron just about a week before our trip. Took a 1/2 day morning trip. His website was updated daily (which is RARE for fishing guides) so it was easy to select what was available. He was outstanding. Worked hard to get us on fish, was quick to assist with any needs we had, was VERY knowledgeable about the fishing landscape (he has had a boat since he was 12!) and was reasonably priced. Don't let his youth scare you, this young man is an EXPERT at what he does. If we're back in the area, you can bet he will be my 1st call!

Lots of spots and croaker to catch everywhere. Off the docks, by the boats, inlets. Everywhere we went the girls caught them and had a blast!!

Booked this trip via Fishbooker.com for my son and myself (Half day AM charter).
Spoke with Cameron that week and again the night before the charter and we were very excited to get started the next day.
The location was very easy to find and directions were accurate and simple. Cameron is a younger man, but an expericenced seaman and captain. The "Tradition" is a quaint but very seaworthy and adequate for this inshore jaunts.
Cameron knew right where to take us and we were on some bluefish in the first 45 minutes of our charter. This was despite deteriorating sea condition in the early morning hours.
We spent the morning hitting on decent size blues and then shifted our focus to some drum. The drum seemed a little more difficult to get on, despite the success of the boats surrounding us, but Cameron was well versed in spotting and tactics. We hit our first one about an hour in to it, and our limit followed shortly thereafter. Our largest was the legal limit 27".
I would highly recommend Cameron and Tradition Fishing to anyone looking to spend some time inshore fishing while in OBX. We are looking forward to fishing again with him next year,

My friends and I made a last minute trip to Hatteras and discovered this gem! Captin Cameron was very knowledgable and incredibly friendly. He went well beyond and made us really feel like we've known him for years. Highly recommended, don't miss out on this opportunity!

Wow!!!! What can we say. Amazing drum fishing at trip with Cameron Whitaker of Tradition Fishing. Cameron went above and beyond the call of duty by going the extra 18 miles to put us on the fish right off of Ocracoke Inlet. My wife and I caught 12 drum between 34 and 46 inches in a little over 90 minutes! Of the 12 pulled in, three were citation size over 40 inches in length. We are already planning a cobia fishing trip in May.

Another great trip on the water with great customers. It was a blast fishing with Mr Loran and Ms Susan. Sometimes you just get lucky and the fish seem to work in your favor. I'm glad that we had such a good day and good weather for the long journey that we traveled. Thanks for the great review.

We didn't plan a boat trip when we came to Hatteras Island, but stayed at the marina and they were able to get us a trip booked. We planned on clamming and hunting for sand dollars, but our guide, Cameron was awesome and knew where there were schools of red drum. He helped both of our kids catch fish. We caught several large fish that were catch and release, but also ended up with 3 puppy drum that we were able to keep. We then went clamming. Cameron helped us find 200 clams, and the kids had a blast. We then went to an area where we found many sand dollars. The trip was more than we would have ever imagined, and out of a 10 day, 3 city trip, the kids named the boat trip as the best part of their vacation! Later, our 13 year old said it was the best vacation day he has ever had (this kid has traveled all over the country including Disney and Universal). We are forever grateful for the fantastic memories we made. Cameron was a great guide, and took the time to teach our kids about what we were doing. We would recommend him highly!!

I am very happy that everything worked out in our favor. It is also is very exciting for me to share my passion with other kids. This day was totally exceptional fishing, clamming, and the hunt for sand dollars. I am so happy to hear that your kids loved the trip and could experience what great things Hatteras has to offer. this was all free except for bait as I had my own poles with us. But was inexpensive and would suggest using the squid as it holds up against the little fish nipping at it, lol. We fished out back of their marina near there boat inlet.
