I have driven past this place for about 28 years and have never stopped in. What a mistake that was! All that time lost. It is a great place with just about everything. It also has a little bakery and snack bar, unfortunately that part was closed when I went. It has some antiques for sale, new and used items. It was just a very nice place. It is definitely a must see.

The New Hampshire Country Store is a 200 year-old historic barn that's been converted into a 3-floor general store/gift shop and also houses a bakery/cafe called Batter Up. What makes it unique is that it has much more than the typical New England general store -- three floors stock full of items that include pottery, stuffed animals and other toys, windchimes, candles, braided rugs, furniture, antiques, gourmet food products including maple items and nostalgic candies, clothing, housewares, and lots of New Hampshire themed products relating to the mountains or woods. The cafe has a small indoor seating area as well as an outdoor order window and seating area. It's a wonderful place to browse, shop, grab a snack, and buy a New Hampshire souvenir and is just a few miles from Chocorua Lake.
