What a view! Great place to hike and has a nice rocky top so the view is amazing as you get closer to the summit.

For those of you who can't (or won't) hike up a mountain, fear not -- it's enough to just enjoy the views of Mt. Chocorua itself, especially from Chocorua Lake, and especially in early-to-mid October when the foliage colors are outstanding.

Gorgeous mountain views. Trails to the top are relatively easy except the last rocky fragment that might be slightly more challenging.

We did the loop that has a bunch of pretty sketchy bouldering and rock scrambling. Would recommend for experienced hikers who are fit and comfortable with advanced rock scrambling. A great reward at the summit! Very memorable hike, what a tough day back to hiking!

Went in-and-out via the Champney Falls trail on a clear fall day. Trail was busy, but not congested except at some of the rock scrambles near the top, where everyone had to funnel into a single file climb. Relatively moderate hike by White Mountain standards, but stunning views from the top more than hold their own with those from higher peaks. Rock scrambles on the final ascent approach add a bit of challenge, and should be approached cautiously by those who are anxious about heights. But there are also great views from the lower ledges so don't let fear of the final scrambles keep you from hiking up.

This is an easy/moderate hike. It is about 3 hours to summit. Very pretty hike. We did Champney Falls on the way back, they are very pretty. This hike allows you to either summit or hike into the falls and go back or do both. We did both the views at the top are breathtaking. You definately want to have good shoes, water and food. Would recommend this for a good day hike.

Set off via the Champney Falls Trail and encountered the first problem - no footbridge over river (as described in hike books) so a bit of rock hopping was in order. The trail up to the Pitcher and Champney Falls was mostly well-marked, though conditions underfoot on a snowy day in May were not the best - quite slippery. The Champney Falls were beautiful surrounded by snow covered trees but after a bit of rock scrambling we decided that maybe continuing on to Mount Chocorua was unadvisable. Therefore we returned having completed the shorter falls loop. A bit disappointing but the longer hike can be saved for another time. Would recommend the Champney Falls section to anyone looking for a shorter hike.

More or less than three and half hours walking and easy climbing you will arrive on top of the Mt. Chocorua, face to face with Mt. Washington on top; and while there is a nother choice to enjoy a wild river with lots of swimming ponds on your side; with an hour extension after a long summer day climbing up and down now you can land in the sweet lake Chocorua and swim to rinse all your tiredness if any!

Chocorua was on my list of to-do hikes for a long time, and it was definitely worth the wait! It is a challenging/longer hikes in some sections, so I wouldn't recommend it for a novice hiker / someone who isn't in decent shape. There are also many trails to choose from, so do your research and pick which trail will be best for you!

This is a great hike with great views. Might be a little tough for small kids, but good for adults and young adults. Several trails to the top and all are good. Effort is worth the view.
