I can't say enough about the wonderful experience at Nestlenook Farms.....From the very beginning to the very end. Everyone was wonderful.. we had our family up from Texas (my husband and I are from Maine) They said it was magical and will never forget this adventure.....I knew it would be awesome but it went beyond our expectations. I have so many more family members to bring back this winter. Thank you Nestlenook Farms for everything. You bring back the beautiful peaceful days of Currier and Ives or Normand Rockwell. So picturesque. Hearing the bells on our horses (Frank and Hank) to the beautiful music in the background along with people having fun enjoying the ice skating.....and don't forget the ride in the lighted woods with the sound of the trickles of the river along the banks. I am handicapped and with every step of the way they helped me on and of the carriage and made sure I was comfortable. Please do not hesitate to take this adventure you will never regret it...... P.S. don't forget to sit by the open fire........

We had a pleasant late-afternoon sleigh ride on the large group sleigh. The one disappointment for us was that the only seating available for our party of four on the large sleigh was the bench facing BACKWARD. We were the last ones called to board the sleigh so we did not have a choice. I've been on the sleighs before and can say that the ride facing backward is not nearly as enjoyable as the experience facing forward. I personally think that only forward-facing seating should be offered. But if rear-facing seating is a possibility, this should be clearly disclosed to customers in advance, and those seats should be sold at a discount rather than full-fare.

Reserved a sleigh ride for two on Valentine’s Day with champagne. It was freezing cold and a bit windy but we dressed for the elements and brought a very warm blanket. Our driver, Sydney was pleasant and informative but was hard to hear because her face was covered because it was so cold. We went at dusk and had flurries falling for much of the ride so that coupled with the lights that were lit made it more special. The champagne was the least expensive one on the market and way too sweet, very disappointing. Plus there was no designated photographer to take photos. The gentleman who gave us the champagne took our photo but it had another sleigh and driver in the background. Nestlenook misses the mark in these two areas. Overall we enjoyed the experience.

We visited on a weekend during the busy vacation week. - Beautiful location - postcard pretty with the sleighrides, skaters on the river and the cozy fires and glass warming huts - It was freezing but we brought the recommended blanket for our romantic semi private sleigh ride so we were warm and really enjoyed the champagne! Out driver was very nice and informed us about the area and history of the estate. Highly recommend a visit! Be sure to book in advance - I don't think there were any non-reservation people waiting for the sleigh rides.

So disappointing. The grounds look impressive from the road and when you enter but we did the carriage ride and there were very little lights and many where in need of replacing, and the so called history of the place was sparce. It was not worth the money unfortunately. Feels like they have given up on making it special.

Took a private sleigh ride with my wife.Our sleigh “driver” Kat was friendly and engaging. The ride offered beautiful views of the estate, and along the river. Complimentary bottle of champagne was included for the ride, and several campfires were available to warm up afterwards.Very enjoyable experience.

My wife and I had a weekend getaway and we booked the sleigh ride that reserves the back seat for a semi-private ride that is slightly elevated for a better view. I have to say I think we enjoyed this ride through the snow more than we had anticipated. We did not realize the grounds would be so beautiful with all of the lighting, and we did not know about the ice skating on the premises which added to the ambiance of the ride. Made us wish we could skate! We enjoyed the hot cider, but thought we read there was hot chocolate after the ride, too, but did not see that. Glad we brought our own blanket. It would only have been better if it had been snowing during the ride. We would do this again if in the area.

We chose the Semi private seat on the sleigh ride and opted for the hot cider. The cider was so good, perfect on a cold night. The ride was nice and Nestlenook is so pretty when it’s all lit up at night. Although the walk to the sleigh was on a rubber type of surface, there were a few icy spots that were quite slippery. We did ok, just had to be very cautious. Would definitely do again.

The horses appear to be very well cared for. They and the sleigh were beautiful.
There was a cozy outdoor fire pit at the pick up location. Our group enjoyed the tail braids on both horses. We could have done without the music piped in. Our driver, Tyler was excellent and has a good sense of humor. We loved when we entered the forest and everything was quiet and serene. We went along a lovely river and it was actually snowing which added to the wonder of the experience. It was fun passing the horse pasture as some of the other horses came over to visit. There were even some ice skaters we saw on the pond. All in all a truly enjoyable time.

NOW this is a place we've been to many many times over the years and never get tired of returning there. Always have a great time taking sleigh rides especially when there's a lot of snow. Nice grounds with open pit fires 🔥 a must stop if your in the area.

When you call, they will walk you through the sleigh options as well as tell you about the environment (fire pits and roasting marshmallows at night, the warming gazebo, ice skating, hot cocoa). I agree that the night ride is the way to go. It's magical! The rides are about 25 minutes long and you can get a private sleigh, one for a group, or ride with others.

We have not stayed at the Inn. Just taken the chocolate sleigh ride and walked around the grounds. We stay at The Wentworth in Jackson which is an elegant country Inn worth it's weight in gold!

I can only tell you that when I was there over the summer the place was a dump. It didn't look like a Currier and Ives portrait anymore unless they did a ton of work on the place since last August. But according to their webpage they will be open. Buyer beware is all I can say.
