Great location, amazingly good shows by a professional summer troupe....only open for the summer season but it's generally packed for the 3-5 plays that they put on every year. Well worth a visit. They have a dinner theatre option which is very good and very, very limited.

Found this theatre quite by accident and was delighted to do so. The Neil Simon play "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" happened to be playing that evening so we booked our reservations and enjoyed a lovely evening out. It is like a diamond in the rough, as is this little section of Tamworth. Just delightful and something I would enjoy doing again.

Barnstormer's Theatre for summer theatre in the Ossippee/Tamworth area is GREAT!!!! The actors are very professional and we always look for our favorites season after season. They have a mix of venues in their shows and most of their patrons (myself included) try to see every show and come back always - year after year. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

Incredible shows, incredible talent, you'll want to see every show!! The singing, the dancing, the set decor, you'll be amazed at how much talent resides in a little town. A hidden treasure in Tamworth NH!!✨✨✨

We went to a play at this old, but charming summer theater and had a wonderful time. It is small and every seat was good. At half time you could go outside and have drinks and home made cookies. The play was great and we will return next season. The price was also very reasonable.

The performance was funny, improvisational and entertaining. This particular show, Western Civilization, would be best for adults only.

The play was well done. The theater is small enough that there seem to be no bad seats. It took some in the audience time to settle down and late commers dribbled in during the play which in my mind is rude. Acoustics were good too.

What more can I add to these other excellent reviews! The building is as beautiful as it is historic. The directors always ensure that we have a delightful melodrama or delicious mystery or capricious comedy. The traveling actors must work so hard, but it doesn't show. I always feel that they speaking only to us.
Thankfully the theatre is now air-conditioned, something President Grover Cleveland would have wished for on a summer night.
My only regret is that our traveling interferes with seeing all the shows. Boo!

A comfortable theater that is at its best with a professional company of actors that do extraordinary work. You always come out happy you were there. The cast does a new play nearly every week, and does it well. If you are near Tamworth, put the theater on your must see list. It’s been there 88 years.
