I've visited the museum today with my two boys and husband. We absolutely loved it. This museum is so incredible and has so many amazing artifacts and historical pieces. It's incredible for children who can see all these animals, fish, birds and other wildlife and even touch them with one finger. I highly highly recommend coming to this museum and also helping to support it with extra donations as it is such a valuable place for our present generation as well as progeny

Our second trip to the Libby Museum (you can also read my review of our first trip) was just as enjoyable as the first. We visited on Tuesday July 31, a warm and sunny day. We did not go because we needed something to do in the rain. We went because it's a great museum regardless of weather!
Our kids had a great time exploring the museum. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The woman who I gather is the manager offered scavenger hunts for our younger kids. One was even given a second scavenger hunt--with prizes! The manager later saw us standing in front of the museum trying to photograph ourselves, and she offered to take a photo of our whole family, which she did.
Overall, this museum is highly recommended for its beautiful location, tons of fascinating artifacts, and its inviting and friendly staff. And the admission price is modest: $5 for adults and kids under 16 FREE.

This is an older one-huge-room museum of New Hampshire-related artifacts on the road about five miles north of Wolfeboro on 109, directly across the way from a small public lakeside where kids can swim if you can find a place to park. The exhibits are loosely curated but the staff is willing to help where they can. They sometimes have special programs. Best suited for the 6-11 range, somewhat for the smaller ones who might like to see a stuffed owl or bear.

A rainy weekend on the lake isn't what we signed up for, but it has encouraged us to find small local indoor spots, and boy were we happy to find The Libby Museum!
It is small, but is a collection started by Dr. Libby in 1912, and it has been added to over the years. The artifacts from local and around the world, the animals and skeletons, local artwork, they appear to even run programs in the summer for kids! At $5 a person it is worth it to go. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great morning spent there, would definitely recommend.

We visited with our son and granddaughter (3 years old) on a rainy day. Or granddaughter was interested in the stuffed animals, but as an adult I found it a bit depressing. Many of the animal exhibits were quite old and faded and had clearly been exhibited for many years. The labeling was handwritten in ink on little tags (very old-time). They were hard to read and quite dated.
The best part was the staff who were very friendly and started our granddaughter on a scavenger hunt. Also nice that some things were allowed to be touched.
I think there should be a facelift and some up to date signage.

Many stuffed animals. Prehistoric items. A local doctor built this museum to house his collection in 1912. Lots of cool stuff. worth a stop and at $5 a person how can you go wrong?

Interesting museum of local flora and fauna. Would have loved to have met Dr. Libby - quite the renaissance man! Doesn't take long to see the whole thing so it is worth stopping.

A hundred years ago the dr Libby wanted to create a museum representing the area--and he ended up collecting a few other things, like a polar bear, giving the citizens an up close and personal look at things they never would otherwise. So interesting. Visit often.

My husband and I visited the Libby Museum in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on Sunday, September 24th, while staying on Lake Winnipesauke in Wolfeboro. We have visited this museum multiple times over the past 30 years and have always enjoyed it, finding it to be quite interesting.
The Libby is a small museum with a great collection of many different types of items all nicely displayed with very good supporting documentation. The collection was originally started by Dr. Henry Libby in 1912 and since then has been expanded upon. The items from Dr. Libby’s original collection are marked as such within the museum exhibits. There are many different animals, reptiles and fish that have been well preserved on display, including bears (both black and polar), moose, birds, fox, coyote, fish, alligators and snakes. There are also various other unique collections of rare coins, guns, maps, beads, fans, buttons, fossils, animal skins, snake skins, skeletons and other unusual artifacts.
The museum is worth the visit for an interesting assortment of various types of Natural History items, including a number of different oddities. The museum could be enjoyed by both children and adults. It has something for everyone.

This was even better than ,I had thought it would be, after reading the description on the internet. Such a vast and eclectic collection of things! Enjoyed reading descriptions of Dr. Libby and what he was like too. Nice building and greeter was the best!
