Weekend trip to this lighthouse.
Beautiful place. It was raining and cloudy but still was looking beautiful.
Must visit to know the history and for the view.
Parking is free.
Have to walk around 7 -8 floors.
Very well maintained.

It's vacation, relax a bit!

A beautiful lighthouse, park, beach, and nature preserve are all here. You could spend a day here just enjoying the leisure of the area watching birds, seeing dolphins in the ocean, and soaking up the sun and surf. Huge parking area and the beach is very close and you can walk forever! Make a day of it here.

Take the hike behind the dunes

The walk along the hiking trails was great! Loved the board walks through the marshy areas where you had a better chance to see different birds and waterfowl up closer. I was especially impressed with the cooperation between The Nature Conservancy and the NJ state parks. It was a superb place to learn about the ecosystems.

Amazing morning

All the experience was wonderful. The lighthouse is very nice, easy to climb, enough space in stairs and the view is amazing. The people who works there is very nice too. Outside, there's a beautiful nature preserve with excellent trails to walk around and enjoy nature....and the beach right there. All in one package. Amazing experience.

Not just a lighthouse

A lot more than just a lighthouse. The climb to the top is very manageable, just 199 steps, but the view is very rewarding. Our 5 year-old enjoyed it enough so that she wanted to return a second day to climb again with the familiy members who coudn't make it the first time. The guide or ranger at the top of the lighthouse was very knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy answring her questions.

But there is a lot more in the area. The beach is wide open and beautiful, and there are ponds featuring swans, a muskrat and lots of other wildlife that are well worth exploring.

Must See!

2022年6月

I was in Cape May in June 2018 and the lighthouse is a must see! It has great views of the beach and is very safe. I highly recommend!

I love lighthouses!

Lovely area with a lot of free parking and beach access; great for photos. also there is a hawk watch area there from an elevated platform.

It is fun to climb to the top and worth the challenge

I have climbed the Cape May Lighthouse many times over the years and I picked a crisp winter day to climb the lighthouse on this visit. Talk about a wonderful view on a clear sunny blue day. You could see all the way into the downtown area.

The view of the ocean was specular and you could see miles out to sea. The boats and the people walking on the beach were so clear. It was such a nice day that even the guy working the booth at the lighthouse said it was unusually busy for a post Christmas day.

People were out and about this day and wanted to find things to do and this climb was the perfect exercise after the post Christmas meals and snacks. It is a very easy climb if you are used to climbing stairs.
