They have moved to 220 Franklin Ave, Randolph,NJ. Bigger better facility. More beers. More fun. Open 4 o'clock weekdays Wed - Fri. 12 noon Saturday and Sunday.

On a Sunday afternoon on my way north from the NJ Shore - I decided I needed a little adventure with my dog. What to do?? I googled dog friendly breweries near me and FORT NONSENSE popped up. It said it had outdoor seating for dogs - and the reviews were positive so we added it to our GPS.
Fort Nonsense was a Small Brewery tucked off Rt 10 in Denville. Be sure to follow GPS directions so you don't miss the parking lot entry.
Decent parking - and yes there was a small porch with picnic tables for outdoor seating with your furry friend. Inside is very cute - I particularly appreciated the artwork of Washington Crossing the Delaware...and included on his ship were Kegs of Fort Nonsense!
I was particularly interested in their seltzer selections and I was not to be disappointed. The Mango Seltzer was off the charts delicious. So much so -I purchased a crowler to bring a BBQ - in which we used the Seltzer to make a Mango Seltzer Sangria!
Service was excellent - the beer maids were very friendly and helpful - The deck was crowded so my dog had to stay in the car - but next time she is getting a prime seat so we can stay enjoy some more time and beverages.

Love this brewery! I wish they had more choices of beer! If you enjoy malty beer then this is the place for you! They do offer flights here!

Stopped by while working in north NJ. Great IPA and the staff was very friendly. Small place but plenty of seating, no food, but other customers were having food delivered. Great name, from Gen Washington's experiences! Would definitely return if I am in the area. Thanks.

I was in town for work and finished early one afternoon. I Googled "breweries near me" and came up with a handful within 10 or 15 minutes ride. Not sure why I picked Fort Nonsense, but I ended up happy!
I am an IPA fan and they had two on tap. They gave me a sample of each. I opted for the Great Falls IPA which I enjoyed very much!
The barkeep was a friendly sort and was happy to answer questions.
Now that I know the lay of the land, next time I will probably walk up to the Alexis Diner and grab some grub to bring to FNBC to have with my beer.
Their beer is a bit more expensive than I am used to (I live in NC) but only by a buck or two. Life is too short to worry about small change!

As a seventy year old, I have been drinking beer for 50 years. Barley, wheat oats and hops have been the recipe for beer making for most of my adult life. The craft beer explosion has taken me by surprise. I love beer so exclusively on that motivation, I am willing to try to join in on the craft beer phenomenon. Fort Nonsense Brewery offers beers with amarillo hops, notes of dark chocolate, coriander, orange peel, coffee beans, citrus, kumquat, mango and other seasonal ingredients. Quite frankly, I am unable to make the transition. The beer I was most comfortable with was Benedict Amber (5.4% ABV, hops grown in Randolph) with a bitter bite. When I visited they had a nice crowd and the small tasting room was nearly full on a weekend early evening. There is a small corner bar with tables for 4 and 2 spread around. The room was clean, cozy and a wood feel. The picture of Washington's Crossing was what I remember most. A flight of 4 5 ounce drinks will set you back $12 which in my estimation is reasonable but not cheap. A ten ounce pour is $5 and a 16 ounce pour is $6.50. They do not offer food but you can bring your own or order delivery from local vendors. The owners are very appreciative of your business. There were a lot of young people when I visited. Hanging out drinking beer and playing board games seem to fit their style. If you like craft beers and hanging out, this is a good a place as any.

Very nice small brewery. Had about 9 beers to select from including a Halloween Blend. Cute creative names for each beer. Something for every taste. They have trivia night on Thursdays and a nice selection of games if you wanted to stay awhile. You can also bring your own food.
