Very nice trails that are well maintained. Can do a small trail or long one. Well marked but have to keep your eyes open for the trail markings or you can easily make a wrong turn and you're on another path and you have no idea where you are. Amazing beautiful rock formations to see. Lots of photo opportunities. Parking lot is small and fills up quickly on nice days especially weekends. No bathrooms except porta potty at the parking lot. Amazing local hidden gem.

My girls and I have been hiking the Sourland Mtn trails for years. Always a treat! You can take a quick hike or make a longer day of it. My younger daughter especially loves climbing the boulders. Great place to take the dogs too!

Whether you choose to hike to the top, short or long, SMP offers a diverse local outdoors experience. There is ample of parking and space to hike. Every season is different. The paths are moderate to difficult depending on your condition. Great views of NYC on clear days.

One of the great hiking trail, multiple levels goes from 1 miles up to 6 mile trails, spacious parking lot with porta-potty…. It is a small beautiful pond for fishing for kids and can be used for outdoor picnic area! Friendly And helpful staff!

Manicured trails that were properly marked and easy to follow! Sour land has you covered. You can take a short loop trail or be out there for hours enjoying the trail systems. Great hike!

Had a great hike here. Very clean. Lots of rocky paths where we walked. Would recommend picking up a trail map.

We came here on Memorial Day. Police limited the number of cars entering and were told to come back on the half hour. This is to comply with pandemic regulations. Unfortunately, half the visitors were not complying with wearing a mask or social distancing. For those who did, thank you. It is dumbfounding to see parents with masks but not their kids.
On to the park. There are three main trails with the longest being the square trail. The square trail is 5 miles. We did a hybrid of half the square and part of the circle. Both are very rocky but walkable. Lots of dogs with their owners on the trail.
The trail is not paved and rocky in parts. Not for those with mobility issues or those wanting to use a stroller. Not tremendously scenic and more like walking through the woods. There are large rocks to climb along the path.
Entrance and parking are free.

This is a very quick ride to get to some great hiking trails. All trails are well marked and everyone we passed by was very amiable. The dog did need a bath when we got home so bring some towels to protect you car!

Great hike up the mountain. Good exercise really no lookouts. Nice walk in the woods. A little muddy in the low areas

Why don’t the blazes match the legend on the posted map near parking lot??? Why do soooo many people need to use trail Apps to find their destinations??? Really unnecessary!

The map near the parking lot is outdated. Updated printed maps are out each year, but they go quickly. I don't understand the use of trail apps either, as they seem to detract from the experience of nature.
