Jacobs Chapel Cemetery also known as Colemantown Negro Cemetery on Elbo Lane is one of the historic attractions of Mount Laurel. You can find it located behind of the Mount Laurel/Evesham Friends Burial Ground. Colemantown was a black community settlement and a stop of the Underground Railroad. This cemetery is one of the earliest African American burial grounds in Burlington County. The Jacobs Chapel Colemantown Foundation is an institution working on research, restoration of tombstones and cataloging of burial records.

Stroll through a Historic Landmark in Mt. Laurel NJ. Behind the Chapel is a burial ground from the early 1800's with Civil War soldiers' graves.

I went for a tour with friends. This used to be a stop on the Underground Railroad in a Black community called "Colemantown."
To one side of the church is the Colemantown Meeting House which
is in need of repair. There is also an African American cemetery behind the buildings.
Terrell Person, the pastor of the Chapel is also the great, great grandson of Dr. James Still. The Still family owned the property.
