We saw Rickie Lee Jones last night and both she and the venue were excellent!!! We came with friends and we all had a great time. Her performance was incredible. Her voice is still vibrant. Her band was great, as was the opening act. The sound in the theater was perfect. Although it was hot outside, the Newton Theater was cool and pleasant. The staff there were professional. I would high recommend seeing a concert here.

There is really only one thing to talk about for me because the entire concert was ruined by the tiny size of the seats. The seats appear to be made for school children. I’m not svelte but I fit in an airline seat. I could barely sit and due to pain in my legs and back from shifting around I couldn’t enjoy the show. When my next seat over linebacker neighbor sat down it made it double bad. His arms were huge and flowed into my seat. Everyone around me was talking about how cramped we were. Even smaller ppl. Doubtful I’ll return for this reason only. I don’t know how overweight ppl can come and watch a show. I guess they can’t. Can u imagine going out with a group to a concert there and going to ur seat but not being able to sit down? This problem needs to be remedied. I say rip up the pre school seats and replace them with normal size seats. Period.

I purchased 5 tickets for the toxic monkey show for Dec 2021 in July of 2021
I rcvd a call, on my home voicemail, telling me the show was cancelled in November
I have called them 3 times including the CEO and sent 3 separate emails asking for a refund
I have been completely ignored. No phone call, no email, no communication for 6 weeks
I had to call my credit card company to fight back
I'll never attempt to see a show here again

Came on a cold, rainy Friday evening to see a show. No one directed traffic so it was a mystery to where the parking lots are situated. I decided to just park on the street about 2 blocks away. Not really a bad walk to and from our parking spot but on a rain driven night it was borderline miserable. The theatre appears to be fully renovated and beautifully restored. Restrooms are on the lobby as you walk in. Women on the right side and men's on the left. You enter the doors and must climb a few steps to enter the theatre. Nice everywhere. I only have one major gripe. The seats are only spacious if you attend preschool or you live in a town of oompalompa's (no disrespect, just used as an analogy). The SEATS are way too small. Smaller than if you were to fly. Normal size patrons even have difficulty! I'm not happy to drive a few hours to watch a show/concert just to be in traction! Sorry to relay such unpleasant news but it's really true.

I went to the Newton Theater for the first time a couple weeks ago and the theater is small enough that there are really no bad seats. The concessions could be better...there is a small little area when you come in where they serve some beer and snacks and the selection is not so great but it is an old theater so need to give them some slack.

I saw Crash Test Dummies on Sunday night with fourth row seats. I believe the total capacity is 600 people with the balcony. But honestly there is not a bad seat in the house and I found the acoustics to be excellent. The ticket prices were fair unlike going to the larger venues. I also found the staff to be helpful and friendly and I would return to see other shows any time.

Great sound for a small theater. The staff was a bit intrusive with some of the patrons. Probably won't go back because there's only one isle in the right side of the theater for all the seats, which we found weird.

The Newton Theatre is a small venue, but a great place to see a show. The acoustic's are good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The theatre has been around for a long time. The only qualm is that the bathrooms are still to small for the occupancy amount and the parking is meh. Still I would recommend it if your in the area for a nice evening out.

I have seen a multitude of shows here, with varied genres of music as well as movies. The pluses here are the staff whom are always courteous and helpful. The intimacy of the venue is fantastic and there really is not a bad seat in the house. The prices compared to any other venues can not be beat. Very rarely ever go above 90 and average, depending on the act, around 35.00 to 75.00. The cons at this place are the seating and the bathrooms. Seats are small, with little elbow room due to the old age of the theatre. This is what makes the bathrooms equally small and tedious. The only other issue is a lack of consistency with good sound engineers. I assume that the room is not easy to mix but at multiple shows the mix will keep changing throughout. Occasionally they get it right but certainly not on average. Otherwise I am very thankful to have this venue so close by. They get many really good acts and play an assortment of movies, including some independent movies which are hard to see anywhere close to where I live.

Been to the Newton Theatre a few times and thoroughly enjoyed each. On the smaller side, there is not a bad seat in the house. And the sound is pretty good too! The worst I can say about it is the bathrooms are inadequate to accommodate the rush that occurs between sets. Nearby street parking and eatery choices.

There is some on-street parking but there are free lots one block in either direction. Never been an issue!
