From the minute we walked in the staff was friendly and welcoming. We sat at the chef's table, for a 4 course meal. Every dish was explained as to what was in it, as well as suggestions on how to eat some of it. First course we had shrimp toast and bison tartare. The shrimp toast was perfectly portioned shrimp to croissant (toast). Husband loved the bison. 2nd course octopus and pork belly. Octopus was meaty and seared perfectly. Pork belly was served in a radicchio leaf and was just amazing. Third course Halibut, trout, venison and duck breast. Both fish were light and delish, duck had crispy skin, venison and duck were both so tender and flavorful. Fourth was fall pavlova, Vietnamese cinnamon cake and a raspberry Panna cotta. While they were all good, I would sell my husband for the Vietnamese cinnamon cake any day. It is BYOB or they also have wine, we chose to byob. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic treat. From start to finish this team focused on every detail. Great heaters for outdoor dining as well as guest blankets available upon request. The staff are young, hip and add to the over experience. Plates are beyond cool and innovative. All this would be meaningless if the food quality wasn’t spot on. Lucky for us every single dish was beyond tasty. I am a picky eater and am not impressed by the long complicated dishes. These were simple enough for me to say, and beyond insanely good. My wife and I liked it so much were already booked to return. If you can get a reservation do not miss out on this gem.

Excellent food in both presentation and taste. My main complaint is the music being way too loud with salsa and merengue music the whole night, feeling like being at a salsa bar, which does not match the fine experience. Another small complaint is the portion of the food being a little too small. Otherwise, the food's taste and presentation are truly top rated.

Incredible experience! Sat at the chef’s table and had vegan tasting menus while my husband had regular tasting. He mentioned about some saltiness with yellowtail dish and need for some rice with it (being Japanese, that’s allowed) but basically everything was superb! My favorite out of tasting menu was kale salad and risotto with WHITE TRUFFLE! My husband said scallops, beef, and venison were all good with garnish that comes with it. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE was so accommodating and I can’t say anything negative about this place. If you are a food lover in Monmouth County, this is a must place to go! Tasting menu changes every week so we will be back to this place soon.

After seeing a number of fine reviews we decided to give it a try. The meal was everything that people raved about. The prix fix menu had a little bit of everything for all tastes. I read that some people complain about meal size. I found this not to be true. Too many people think a lot of food means a good meal. No so. The portion were just the right amount without feeling bloated when you leave. We had the broccoli and kale salad. Excellent. I had the duck breast. Great flavors and texture. My better half had the tile fish. Loved it. The desserts were light and a nice way to end the meal.
The reasons I didn’t give this place 5 stars were a few. First, parking is absolutely horrendous. I don’t know what they can do about it but it still is an issue. Second, if reservations are required than honor them. To make an 8 o’clock reservation and then make the party wait 30 minutes to sit is not acceptable. The dining room and reservations have to be better handled. Lastly, even though the music played was enjoyable, it was way too loud.

A culinary delight. Coming from Jersey City we enjoy many great dining venues in Manhattan, I would put this place on par with any of them. The service was attentive and the food was absolutely delicious and refined. From the friendly staff to the impeccable meal, we loved our dining experience and highly recommend it!

So lucky to have a friend in the area so I could experience Heirloom Kitchen while visiting from Florida. I watched David Viana on Top Chef - and his restaurant made me feel like Padma herself - eating true Top Chef cuisine.
The ambiance is great - bright and airy, tables well spaced, seats comfortable. Service is professional and friendly, we were very well taken care of, everyone was attentive but never intrusive.
Most important - the food - fantastic!! Everything served at our table was flavorful and fresh. Our starters included the Snapper Crudo (the broth was so delicate and yummy I almost drank from the dish to get the last drop), and my friend also loved her Paella Agnolotti which was elegnantly presented. Two at our table had the lobster (and shared some with me) - very generous portion and delicious. I had the cod - one of the best entrees I have ever had. We tried both desserts - carrot sundae and brownie bar - I preferred the carrot but I could have been very happy with just the brownie. Adding the amuse bouche and post dessert small sweets it was a very satisfying meal - I felt full but not "stuffed".
I believe the menu is priced very reasonably - skill, finesse, and love are abundant.

Yes, we watched David Viana on Top Chef and almost immediately started planning on driving down to Heirloom... since they were in NJ and so are we!
I liked the place a bit more than my wife. All the dishes were very good... but a few could have been "better." The swordfish my wife had was cooked 'sous vide' which is fine and I enjoyed the bite I was allowed to taste, but my wife felt the fish should have been tossed on the grill for a little searing if only to make it a little hotter. I can't really disagree with her, but I'm thinking the way Heirloom prepares the swordfish is the way it's supposed to be. Then again... food recipes are all subjective anyway.
I had the Wild Boar entree which was very tender and tasty. This was also cooked sous vide and although I do like my meat seared a bit... this dish was quite excellent.
We went with the 3 course Prix Fixe menu sitting at the back counter. Being something of a 'chef' (cough, cough) I do enjoy watching the pros at work.
There are a couple of things I don't understand. The 3 course Prix Fixe is $75 and the portions are decent. Not huge... not tiny. However, in observing several of the the $95 - 5 course 'Chef's Tasting' menu items being served, it was obvious that those portions were considerably smaller than what we were served with the 3 course Prix Fixe. Additionally, if you order from the 3 course menu, you're allowed to choose from 4 different appetizers, 4 different entrees and 2 different desserts. With the 5 course 'Chef's Tasting' menu, you get what's on the menu and that's it. (You get what you get and you don't get upset) There's no choosing, although I believe you can order anything off the menu at a given price. Remember, those 'Chef's Tasting' portions are smaller than those on the 3 course Prix Fixe menu. (All this seems kind of unfair, but it was later told to us that the portions with the 5 course menu are indeed smaller, which, for my money makes the 3 course menu a much better deal.)
That said, we enjoyed the whole experience... the food, the service, the ambiance. The service was very attentive and friendly.
You should know that this is a BYOB, although they do offer wine from the NJ Domenico Winery at pretty decent prices. We brought our own, so I can't tell you how the wine was.
Still... an interesting evening and worth the trip.

My husband and I went to Heirloom Kitchen for a date night. From the moment we walked in, the experience was perfect. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming and she was so excited we were trying the restaurant for the first time. The decor is homey and welcoming. THEN there is the FOOD! We both ordered the five-course tasting menu and every course was superb. Plus the chef sends out little "surprise" tasting bites in between courses which was such a welcomed treat. This was some of the best food we've had in a long time and we can't wait to go back.

We had another spectacular dinner last night at Heirloom. They’ve changed their format now offering a three course meal or a five course tasting menu.

We always share our dishes so we opted for the three course and ordered six different dishes.

The food here is so creative, beautifully plated and really good. Standouts from last nights dinner were many- fried oysters, ribs, “pasta salad”, “fried rice”, halibut and the wild boar.

Service is professional and very friendly. Your wine and water glass is never empty! Heirloom is one of our favorite place to come to to enjoy not only a great meal, but a relaxed modern atmosphere
