我和我的朋友参加了烹饪的香草与今天的事件。 真是棒极了! Louise发表了很多草本植物和如何使用它们。 然后给我们讲了一些关于她的孙子更充满异国情调的香料。 讲授工作人员一直跟着一个美味的香草主题午餐,土豆沙拉,鸡肉,面包卷,沙拉和更多。 农场里还有很多的植物出售很可爱。 另外还有一个礼品店有书籍,花园项目,晒干的草药,还有更多的油。 一定还会再来!

Okay to spend an hour.

Nice place to look at herbs and flowers. I expected to see more herbs, there were a lot of flowers and vegetables for sale.

Great place for hardy succulents!

We live in the area and usually visit Well Sweep a few times a year. It's a charming place with an excellent selection of herbs and succulents. They raise beautiful Onagadori chickens, some sporting four foot tails. There is a nice rock garden on display, and also a small gift shop with dried flower bunches and wreaths.

Review of well sweep

Visited herbs very interesting. I was and am disturbed when I walked through the chicken coop area. It was in the 80s and I noticed there was not much water available for the chickens the little was dirty and sitting in the hot sun. More unsettling was that someone was loading a box containing a live bird onto a wagon. She left with this bird but another box containing an additional bird sat in the sun. From when I arrived until I left which was about an hour this box remained in the sun. Upon expressing my concern I was told there were vent holes in the box. These vents were covered over so I can only imagine how hot it had to get inside the closed box. In addition there was a rabbit In a small cage with no apparent water.
There sensed there was a total disregard for there animals.

GREAT Afternoon! Cooking with Herbs Event

My friends and I attended the Cooking with Herbs event today. It was WONDERFUL! Louise gave a lecture on many herbs and how to use them. Her Grandson then spoke to us about some more exotic herbs. The lectures were followed by a delicious herb themed lunch, potato salad, chicken, rolls, salad and more. The farm is lovely and lots of plants for sale. Plus there is a gift shop with books, garden items, dried herbs, oils and much more. Will definitely be back!

We greatly enjoyed our visit to the herb farm. The grounds are beautiful, and there is a great variety of plants to choose from, not just herbs! We enjoyed seeing their chicken flock, and strolling the grounds while cuddling one of their adorable kittens. They also have a well-stocked gift shop, with lots of herb products, books, and ornaments for the garden. We will definitely be back!

If you love herbs, this is paradise

In rural Warren county, Well Sweep Herb farm is a well stocked, oasis of herb plants, garden supplies and great educational classes. Louise, Cyrus and David have spent decades creating beautiful display gardens, and if you want hardy herb or flowering plants that are not the generic home garden center variety, this is a great place to find them. The Staff is very helpful and take a class or two, you will be well rewarded.

A Gardener's Paradise

I traveled to Port Murray to visit Well Sweep Herb Farm because I read that they were an organic farm. Realizing the harmful effects of some of the insecticides used by the big box stores, I wanted no parts!
The farm from Union County NJ is all of a 45 minute drive off of 78 West. Thanks Google Maps!
Upon arrival, I feel like a kid in a candy shop! Which way do I go? Which plant do I want?? Although I had carefully planned a list of plants I wanted from their extensive online catalog, I didn't follow it. The first garden I approached was the "Healing Garden." Full of Soft Lambs Ears and medicinal plants. They also had a "Butterfly Garden." Everything was well labeled. There are wooden baskets and wagons for you to carry your collection of plants. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They even have bee hives on site!! My boyfriend called the free range chicken coop, "chicken city." I encourage you to check out their website, then plan a visit if you are in the area, or are interested in organic gardening. Next Saturday the farm will host lectures all day including one on bee keeping! Im seriously considering going back.

Foodies and Greenies: Heaven on Earth!

In central NJ, just a short drive from Bethlehem PA, there's a little slice of paradise for gardeners, cooks and everyone in between. This is a multi-generational labor of love, gardening, and culinary wisdom, by serious candidates for The Nicest People on the Planet. Just strolling the gardens is enough for some folks, but then, ooh! ahh! herbs, spices, and fruit trees unavailable anywhere else. You will swoon with the breadth of their selection. From Buddha's Hand Citrus trees to Zaatar and just about everything in between. You want mint, did you say? Could you be more specific? Apple, Pineapple, Chocolate, Pepper, Lemon..Thinking about a fruit tree perhaps? Moro blood oranges! Three colors of figs! Tamarind! Pomegranate! Something hurts? Hundreds, HUNDREDS of medicinal herbs. Even if you are not gaga about gardening something here will catch you and make you take it home and grow it. I even took a taciturn teenager here (with the promise of something else later in the day to make it up to him) and he was nabbed by a sensitive plant that closed when you touched it and a chocolate-scented plant. They've also got herb-related workshops, though I haven't experienced those myself. Pure love with roots and stems, don't miss it.
