Great location

We took the cellar tour of Springfield before our wine tasting. The cellar tour is free and is very informative and interesting. Wine tasting in comfy chairs by the reservoir is a perfect way to spend the afternoon! Unfortunately they don't do any platters, just complimentary olives which my wife liked.

Great cellar tour and nice tasting

We really enjoyed their very informative cellar tour, from the very beginning to ready to sell bottles. Very natural attitude, though not by the book vegan.
Then stylish tasting on nice environment. Had to buy some bottles - unfortunately our Finnish Government monopoly shop has no more these great wines - we really miss Life from Stone!

Just the best sauvignon blanc

I have nothing more to say than this remains the best sauvignon blanc by far in South Africa.It has an incredible bouquet and or aromas it hits you in the face and then the taste buds are immediately impacted with florrid refreshing fruits.This does not suddenly disappear but lingers.This in spite of its dryness which why it is so good.
As a New Zealander and familiar with Marlborough sauvignon blanc it is right up there with their best.

Superb as expected

Springfield wines have been a favourite for many years and visiting the cellar was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and ALL the wines good. We could still buy from last years vintage and cannot wait to taste the new wines that are in processing. We bought our favourites: Life from Stone and Miss Lucy. One of the waiters overheard me saying to my husband that I would love to taste the 1981 Chardonay, after we had finished our choice of five. The next moment she arrived with a complimentary glass for us. Wow, probably one of the BEST wines I have ever tasted. Rather expensive, but we purchased one for a friend who is a wine collector. cannot wait to hear his response.
We shall never pass here without tasing AND buying good wine !!

Disappointed

We stopped here on the way to town to buy a few cases of wine as we are familiar with their wines from previous vintages and always enjoy their wine. We didn’t have the option to taste what we wanted to buy and had to pay R80 to taste 5 wines. We ended up not tasting and buying R2500 worth of wines. Upon requesting whether we would still have to pay to taste should we purchase wine, we were told yes. I find this arrogant and revolting. I feel the whole brand is pretentious.

Best wine tasting

This family-run boutique wine farm has all the elegance & charm but with a wonderfully intimate feel. Allowing you to replace while doing your wine tasting at your own pace, you get plenty of time to admire the breathtaking views.

Excellent wines, perfect setting on grass overlooking a dam under big shady trees. A must visit when you are visiting the Robertson Valley.

Sublime wine tasting & stunning venue

This wine estate is highly recommended. We came here for a quick wine tasting in between some video calls (as we are remote working). Their wifi is excellent & the staff are super helpful. The atmosphere under the trees by the river is peaceful. But most of all, the wine tasting is free! Knowledgeable staff & super friendly. Will definitely do again!
