Experience of a lifetime

Yesterday, I took my first ever ride in a glider. It was awesome. Andrew, my pilot was really great. If I'm ever back in this area I'll have to do it again.

Into the Wild Blue Sky

This is an awesome place to commune with the sky.The glider experience must be had by everyone,so quiet so peaceful you can forget all your problems in the sky.This location has several packages to choose from the one we had let you steer the glider
The operator is helpful and understanding.You have to put this on a BUCKET LIST.This location is close to Albuquerque NM so if you wanted to you could take a Balloon ride and drive over to MORITARY

Awesome break from the road

Recently my family was driving through New Mexico in a U-haul. In an effort to make the drive we took time for a few adventures. Our stop at Sundance was one of the best experiences. Even though they were extremely busy, their team stayed late in the day to take my daughter and I on individual glider flights. The crew is top notch. Safety was a clear priority. The team at Sundance was very accommodating while we waited for our flight. We plan on going back to get Glider certified. Thanks again for making out trip rememberable.

Best time, a must do

This was a fantastic experience. The pilot and all the crew were very friendly and professional and explained everything that they were going to do. The pilot than explains how the drafts and all of that stuff work to help keep the plane the float and all of that stuff and it's a fantastic ride with fantastic views in our beautiful New Mexico Skies. Took the half-hour flight and was just in awe the whole time. Thank you Sundance both me and my daughter had fantastic time

Glider Rides

I went for a glider ride and it was fantastic! Rick the pilot was awesome! He let me "fly" the glider which I did not do very well.. It was absolutely beautiful to see the sights and take pictures and videos. Would do this again!

A "Nice enough" GA Airport: 0E0

Flying GA out west can put you into an unfamiliar stopover. 0E0 was, in this case my destination to first deliver and secondly to pick-up, my great Grandson for a summer ranch experience at 13. This airport is a center for gliding due to the serious thermals coming off the hot high desert. I didn't glide but want to let you know about the airport. One real inconvenience was that the self-fuel is located a long taxi from the FBO necesitating an extra start/stop. The other is that entry to the nice FBO facility requires a combination, day or night, which isn't readily available (Not a good thing after a five hour flight.). Otherwise it is pretty nice. Fuel is realatively expensive ($4.95) but in line with nearby airports. They do provide a crew car (key under floor mat) and only ask you top it off. Carefull!!!! Density Altitude can sneek up on you if you are "Loaded" and take on fuel in the summer. Great family food (sandwiches, TexMex) at Lisa's Truck Center a short drive away in courtesy car.

We are sorry your stop at Moariarty Municipal Airport wasn't the best.We are trying to update online maps to better show where the FBO, self-serve fuel, and pilot lounge are. For future reference the code to the pilots lounge is airport elevation rounded to nearest hundred, as listed on the door. Next time you are in the area we would love to take you up for a glider ride! Thank you

Fantastic Morning In The Sky

I decided at the last minute to stop here and see if I could get a lift in a glider, as I haven't flown in one for a number of years. Rick, the owner managed to work me into the schedule for a half hour. It was great, a perfect day, except a bit early for any natural lift.
However, if you are passing through Moriarty on '66' or I40, this is a great adventure or just super fun. The airport is out about 2 miles in the country, but once there, it is amazing the number of hangers and aircraft there. I was told it was the 3rd busiest in New Mexico..... I am assuming that is not counting the alien space-port in Roswell !!!! ;)

I'm a power pilot and found the glider experience very different. best take a short introductory ride. Take offs and landings were the highpoints for me....A+ for Sundance Aviation!

Soaring the High Desert

My husband and I each had a 30-minute ride with Steve. It was absolutely wonderful! So peaceful and beautiful. Slightly marred by the air quality from extensive fires in the Northwest, but still spectacular. My husband chose to enjoy the ride, while Steve coached me into flying for about 15 minutes of the ride. Everyone we met at the hangar and on the tarmac was pleasant and knowleadgeable.
