The food's very good. Some waiters & waitresses have got to go but both Lina and Tara are great! The lunch lobster special's a good deal.

I have been to City Island multiple times within the past few decades, but yesterday was the first (1st) time that I went to this place for the past seven (7) years. City Island contains a myriad of restaurants, and there is a huge concentration on seafood. It is a safe island with multiple panoramas of the various waterways that surround it on every side. Many boats can be seen in the plethora of marinas. This area is easily accessible from Interstate-95 and from Pelham Parkway; I would state that a person should just be prepared for horrible traffic and for aggressive driving en route to City Island. Orchard Beach is also very close in proximity to this site. There is a lot of street parking, and many of the restaurants also have their own parking lots. I enjoyed taking a walk on City Island Avenue, which is the Main Street.

City Island is a tiny island off the coast of the Bronx but you would swear you are in a small New England fishing village. The views from the bay are breathtaking on a warm clear sunny day and the you can feel the salt air in your lungs as you breath it all in. There is a lot to do and see on the island for the afternoon.
There are any array of restaurants to choose from with some offering deep fried seafood to Mexican and Chinese restaurants that offer alternatives. There are small parks, a nice shopping district with some interesting stores and views of the bay and of Manhattan that are amazing.
There is the City Island Nautical Museum that is a quirky little museum filled with the history of the island that should not be missed and tiny sandy beaches to pass by. There are several historical homes to pass by and the neighborhoods are fun to walk around and just see the old homes and the Americana streets. It is like visiting an old New England fishing village.
You still know you are in the Bronx by the people eating in the restaurants as the streets are clogged at night with people coming to eat here. Still it is nice to visit the Promenade at the top of the island and just sit and enjoy the views. It is a nice way to spend the afternoon when you want to get away from it all.

A small island not well known, only a couple of miles long. There are a lot of small beaches at the end of each dead-end street up and down the island, and an endless selection of seafood restaurants the entire length of main street. During the summer I imagine this spot is packed beyond belief given the number and size of the restaurants, and parking is probably very limited. There was a nice quirky toy shop we visited with a lot of memories from yesteryear.

It's very dirty. It is an island gone bad, full of rich, greedy, and rude people, with lots of empty stores, and angry, yelling 😠 people.
I tried to walk the beach. The owner told me he owned the beach and 250 feet into the water. It was a day of stress and disappointment.

City Island is its own little world in the Bronx. It has fantastic views of the bay including Manhattan, wonderful restaurants and an interesting little museum. The main street, City Island Avenue is where all the shops, galleries and restaurants are located.
On a warm summer day, it is a nice place to visit and just relax. There is so much to do and see and then stop for meals.

I have never gone to City Island and been disappointed. The fish is always fresh and plentiful. Whether I go to a formal sitdown or an informal take-your-order-and--find -a-seat restaurant. This is a lovely place to relax, celebrate or just have a seafood meal.

IT's a nice view as it's something different than the rest of the city. It's good to change it up and go there once a while. I haven't been there this year

Yes! The sidewalks are filled with people walking dogs. As far as I could tell they were welcome (and I saw them at) a number of restaurants with outdoor seating, as well as in the parks and ice cream parlor!
