Wave Hill is a quiet beautiful place on the Hudson. The bees are fantastic, and it’s a great place for a picnic. It also has a couple of nice at galleries and a cafe.

Went on a Wednesday night for the concert series in the summer. Enjoyed strolling through some of the gardens. Wonderful cafe and gift shop.

Wave Hill is a jewel-box beautiful garden and former home on an overlook in the northwest corner of the Bronx. The views of the Hudson River and the NJ Palisades are stunning. It is particularly resplendent in the fall when the fall foliage color flourishes. There are occasional exhibits in the house and there is a small cafe. If you are a fan of the TV show, Billions, one of the outdoor funeral scenes was shot at Wave Hill. Worth a visit if in the area. Not sure it is worth a trip in itself because it is small.

Always a pleasure visiting this local somewhat Botanical garden in the Riverdale area of the Bronx. Lovely view of Hudson and the Bridge and wonder garden flowers variety...Lovely quaint hike. Visited October 4, 2021

we loved our late August visit here with family...all kept very neat and well cared for...buildings as well as grounds...very friendly staff all over the place too....

Beautiful spot in the Bronx, headed toward Yonkers. Gorgeous overlook of the river and Devine landscaping. Lots of different plants and flowers. Spectacular greenhouse with some very unusual species. Very colorful, a feast for the eyes. You can smell the heavenly batches of lavender as the scent fills the air. Also plenty of benches to sit and admire your surroundings, quiet and a great place to reflect. They also have a nice pond. They have a small art gallery included in admission as well as the historic Wave Hill house, where Mark Twain and Teddy Roosevelt summered. Pretty architecture. Nice little cafe. Food is average at best, but wonderful patio seating, so it was worth it. I fed little birds tiny pieces of bread. Entrance was 10 dollars. Parking directly on site was 13, though I believe there is a shuttle from farther away if that price rubs you the wrong way. Wave Hill and Untermeyer gardens are about eight miles apart, so you could easily do both and have a great outdoor day.

make sure to allocate several hours as YOU WILL WANT to make a complete walk of the entire gardens, greenhouses and paths. just so much native plants, flowers, trees, and on and on. do half, making sure to sit on many of the specially designed benches of stone and wood, then go to the cafe for a quick energy boost to do the 2nd half. i wouldnt want to name any special plants etc as that would ignore the ones i miss....and there are thousands. best part might be going home and then stopping at a nursery to TRY and add a piece of what you absorbed at this hidden gem in your own home!!! and at this riverdale location you miss any traffic digesting at the henry hudson bridge-thats a bonus. z"l ruth schapira

This visit was late May with several family members on a recent trip to upstate NY. Cousins said this was a "must visit" if we were already going down to The MET Cloisters and we would be close enough to view both worthy destinations. It was quite warm but comfortable walking through the gardens. An enormous and stately Beech tree was the first to catch my eye. A great photo shoot opportunity! Hand crafted chairs akin to a scaled down Art Craft styled Adirondack chair were scattered under trees and a bench under a formal columned overlook for viewing gave beautiful resting spots. There are buildings with events and special exhibits but we opted for viewing outside on this trip. A small gift shop has a variety of things to take home and some exquisite jewelry. The cafe is completely organic and using sustainable tableware. Plantings and trees were everywhere as well as particular gardens; herb garden, aquatic garden. I saw the most magnificent peonies I have ever seen. For a peaceful, serene space in the day visit Wave Hill!

Visited this garden in the summer of 2020, the beautiful, peaceful grounds were such a treat in the middle of the pandemic. Flowers, the hiking trail and views of the Hudson are amazing.

Very peace filled day there on Thursday; little crowd; gorgeous views; wonderfully maintained gardens; like the art display in one building and the small cafe was wonderful in its offerings...
the gardening staff were most friendly when I would stop them from their jobs to ask questions.
we were able to park there too(although costly at $13 non member price; otherwise, it is at the end of a narrow little road; would not trust finding a parking spot on busy days...then, one would have to use public transportation..
a very nice asset to a quiet part of the Bronx...don't miss it!
