I drove by the Elmira sign and saw Mark Twain, Hal Roach and Ernie Davis. Looked it up and saw they were buried there but Twain's wife, Roach and Davis were born there too. I laughed my head off at Hal Roach's resting place not out of disrespect but out of my love of the Little Rascals. I played 'call me chubsey ubsey' on the phone and 'this may have choked Artie but this artie-choke won't be choking no Stymie'. Mr. Roach; my father who is in his mid 80's and I, in my early 60's still watch the shorts on youtube and crack up laughing. You made a classic that stands with the Star Trek, Three Stooges and Twilight Zone.

Went to see the final resting place of Samuel Clemens AKA "Mark Twain". Easy to find from the main entrance - signage is excellent. Lovely statuary/memorials.
Closed on weekends.

Stopped to see Mark Twain and Ernie Davis's burial locations. Very respectful and educational to visit. Cemetery was easy to navigate to find both locations. Well maintained and kept.

Went here to find Mark Twain's grave. Even though they close at 5 o'clock the gates were open, so we felt free to still go in. There were very good directions and signs posted so we could find the grave without any problems.

Woodlawn is a very pretty cemetery. I was particularly interested to see Mark Twain’s grave. He fell in love with a lady from Elmira, so they also had a home here in Elmira. His family and her family are all buried together in one large plot. It is easy to find inside the cemetery. If you love history and writers as I do, this is truly a must stop!

When driving thru Elmira on my way to the Fingerlakes I stopped here to visit the graves of Mark Twain and movie Director Hal Roach. It is a nice, shaded cemetery with signs pointing to the more famous "residents".

Visited the resting spots for Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) and family. Signs throughout the cemetery point the way to his grave. The cemetery is quite large, but is very quiet with tree lined paths. The individual monuments were impressive. Would've liked to stroll more along the paths and visited some of the individuals crucial to the underground railroad who are buried here, but we had a long drive ahead of us.

Since we were in Elmira we had to visit the Woodland cemetery and see the graves of Mark Twain and his family. As you drive into the cemetery, there are signs to direct you to the site. For the Mark Twain fan this is a must see experience.

We like going here for walks. Not too many people so plenty of room for social distancing. They have a audio history tour which is nice. Very well kept cemetery, lots of history
