Hmmm...not sure. Due to COVID there may be some staff reductions and thus closures of a few services, such as restroom facilities. Check their website for current conditions and openings/closings.

There's plenty of space for them to run around and play. However it's a natural nature area, very attractive with lots of varied hikes, but there are no activities as such for kids.

Sorry, I don't know the parks policy regarding buses. Although the park is very large, the many parking lots throughout are somewhat small, being unable to accommodate a bus.

I've been to Awosting falls, which is probably the nicest waterfall. It's very easy to get to. If you park at the lower parking lot (referred to as the "Lake Awosting parking area below), just off 44, you can follow the directions posted on "Hike the Hudson Valley", which I've copied here for your convenience (that's a good resource for hiking in this area which you can easily find via Google): 1. From the Lake Awosting parking area inside the preserve, walk back down the entrance road, toward the guard shack where you just deposited $8. 2. Once at the guard shack, check out the information on the kiosk to your right, then turn right to head into the park on the main road. 3. In a very short distance, you’ll cross the Peters Kill stream. Directly afterwards, turn left onto the red-blazed Awosting Falls Trail. The stream burbles and drops off to your left on its way to the falls. 4. Continue down the Awosting Falls Trail as it meanders downhill all the way to an open viewing area of the falls. Awosting Falls drops 60 feet into a clear, wide pool with plenty of vantage points all around. Park yourself on some rocks and enjoy the show. That's it, enjoy the view!

Yes, it is true that there is no camping at the park. But there is a campground located very close to the park, the Samuel F. Pryor III Shawangunk Gateway Campground. It is a tent-only campground but includes a pavilion and cooking area, bathhouse and restroom facilities, and circulation trails. It's located at 953 State Route 299 Gardiner, NY, very close to the park.

The 3km walking track around the lake should be fine for young kids.

I can't speak of lodging as I only did a day trip there. My colleague lives in Kerhonkson for 50 years so he knows the place well. He brought me to a few minibrewers after our trekking in the park. All very nice but I don't think you can walk from the trail to those minibrewers.
