I highly recommend going here to anyone who enjoys animals but definitely for those with little kids. There is a very cool park in the same area and families could certainly spend a day here between the two. You can feed the animals and touch some of them. There are picnic tables. Very nice. Not huge but just enough for little ones.

This is maybe a 20 minute stop but it's cool. There is a sign in front of one of the pens that says you are allowed to bring food from home to feed to the animals, I think only the goats, but that is great that you can do that. It's free but there's a donation box at the office door. I put in a dollar, it is worth at least that. We had a good time here, it was very charming.

For a perfect outing with children up to maybe 10 years of age - this is your venue. Not only is it free - well worth giving a donation - the Center offers a good mix of animals and birds (especially the show off peacocks!). It is clean, easy to navigate, yet very interesting and well set out. Feeding the animals is permitted and guidelines to WHAT you can feed each of them is noted on their enclosure. When you've finished with the Center, you can walk up to the excellent play structure in the nearby park. There's also plenty of room to play and picnic nearby. Don't miss this Center in Kingston.

This city park is a find -- literally. The animal section has an unusual variety (a flock of peacocks, for example). And some of the animals must be gaining weight from the number of carrots and apples kids feed them. Other parts of the park include a play area and fields for organized sports.
The only complaint: Hard to find. Unless it wants to keep the park secret, the town could invest in a handful of signs to plant at strategic corners. After driving around for a dozen blocks, we stopped and asked two people outside a church for directions. One jokingly replied "you can't get there from here," while her colleague laid out a series of streets and turns. We were only about four blocks away (complicated slightly by one-way streets), but we could have been 20 feet from the entrance and not seen it. If you can't find it, ask. Or maybe donate a few bucks so the city can put up some hints along the route.

The Forsyth Nature Center is a wonderful setting. Located in Forsyth Park and connected to Deitz Stadium it is easily accessible. Well kept and friendly zoo and nature center. Great animals. Great staff and free

I remember back in the 70's they used to have a bear at this spot used to go visit him all the time..coming back and seeing how they upgraded everything is a pleasant surprise. very well thought out and maintained. The peacocks are my favorite. I grew up on a farm and peacocks so it was a joy to see them. Hats off to the people who maintain and keep this place so nice.

Our 2 year old loved this nature center. It was clean and had an easy paver walkway to see the animals. Plus there is a large playground next to it. Perfect place for kids.

This is a nice park for the family it has a beautiful play ground for kids under 12 and a small nature park with birds, llama's, and other animals. There are lit tennis courts for the adults. There is a large meadow to wear out the young ones. They have a pavilion that you can reserve for parties, and the just got new bathrooms. It also is connect to Dietz Stadium so if you are in town for a high school game you can walk the little ones over to the park why the big kids are playing.

I think we spent about 30 minutes seeing all the animals and another 30 minutes at the playground. Looked like there was a small facility for buying food bit it was not open when we went.
