Pass on the bobsled and go for the coaster

My husband and I did the bobsled experience. Cost $250 for the two of us. The ride is just shy of 1 minute! We do not recommend. We purchased online. Instructions are lacking once you arrive. Let it be known that you have to check in at the main building for an arm band. Then hike over to the shuttle that drives you up the hill. You don’t drive the sled. An employee drives it from the front and you don’t see much. Going up the walls on some of the turns is cool but that is maybe 10 seconds. We also did the coaster which was orders of magnitude better and much cheaper.

Once in a lifetime experience… because you would never pay for that twice

Waste of $125. You could get a better a better adrenaline rush with a strong cup of coffee. The complex was cool and worth stopping by if you are in the area just don’t get bamboozed into the “bobsled experience”. You don’t even get to go all the way up to the Olympic start point, just the children’s start point. A driver is in front so you can’t even see. The speed felt similar to that of a toddler roller coaster and the whole thing only lasts 30 seconds. We signed up for the 10 AM slot, got there 20 minutes early like the website recommended, and then still wasn’t taken up to the luge until around 10:35 only to wait longer at the top until they brought up the bobsled. Save you money and skip this one.

A must see!

We stopped by here to check our the course. We weren’t sure were to go, the friendly staff walked us in the right direction. We were pleasantly surprised they were having luge practice. I already want to go back and try the bobsled !! Highly recommend stopping here!

I've wanted to do this for 50 years so finally paid my $125 and clicked the button. I was super nervous but the staff assured me I was well- taken care of. The ride lasts only 47 or 48 seconds. I must say, it was thrilling. Please note, it may be a bit awkward to get in and out of the sled but not insurmountable. I highly recommend it.

Get tickets ahead of time. Just show up and have fun. Very close to lake placid. Looks like a great place to hike and cross country ski

One of a kind!

If you want to see the track, be prepared to walk up and down some pretty steep and unsteady paths. There are plenty of viewing points along the way. The walk up to the finish is pretty manageable but if you want to trek up to the start, it's a substantial hike. We went on a Sunday morning when no official events were taking place. There were some skeleton athletes practicing and we were permitted into the track area free of charge. Worth the trip and hike. Only a few minutes ride by car from town. The mountain coaster and bobsled experience were closed. Check the website for current schedules.

Cliffside Coaster

The Cliffside Coaster was fun.. great experience for teenage grandkids.. however.. the attendant at the end was rude and very disrespectful.. I expected better from this Olympic venue..

Educational Bobsled

It was fun to tour the bobsled complex and hear the statistics and the physics involved with something we've seen but taken for granted so many times. Our tour guide (a woman whose name I don't recall...sorry) was well informed and had gone on the bobsled herself. Amazed at the amount of G-force involved and the human limitations inherent in this event. Time well spent.

Take the awesome tour, so unique and informative

Janice gave us a tour 45 min long, 10 dollars for seniors, we walked down a long way thru the actual bobsled and luge tube. We also went into the icy room where they practice, and outside ground tour, She explained everything and could answer every question. A man drove the suv on the tour and was also very much an expert on this complex. One of the highlights of our trip. Thank you!!!!
