Lots of bottles of wine to choose from with some good local wines, too. The proprietor also was in charge of the beer shop across the way.

Jessie and Jon are so knowledgeable. They will always find the perfect wine for any occasion This is a great shop with unique wines and spirits that you won’t find in every liquor store.

The smoking cork always has a wonderful, affordable selection of fine wine. The owner, Jessie points out new shipments that have come in to try. The wine that she has recommended have been delicious! Jessie also supports local non-profit organizations by putting on events s/a fun wine tastings. The location is convenient, settled in the Alpine Mall in Lake Placid. I highly recommend buying your wine and spirits from this establishment!

As someone who has little knowledge about wine and spirits, I always appreciate guidance. I live a short distance from Lake Placid so The Smoking Cork is my first choice for wine and liquor stores. They are incredibly knowledgeable and offer an amazing selection. Every recommendation has been a winner!

I'm not much of a drinker and I'll be the first one to tell you that I don't know a butt load of crap about liquor. But I have friends that are in the know about those sort of things, so when they're visiting us The Smoking Cork is always a place we stop. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful when giving suggestions, which is good because their selection is mind boggling!
So far everything has been very tasty that we've purchased there and when we've bought items for gifts they have all been received with excitement and delight.
The prices are right in line with what you'd expect for the quality and everyone who works there is really friendly.

The Smoking Cork is so much more than the only liquor store on Main Street. The owners are extremely knowledgeable, and helpful. When I want to find the right wine to pair with my dinner, their advice is priceless! They also carry an array of interesting canned cocktails, local liquor, and they have an awesome whiskey collection. (Not to mention, they’ve got Stouts and Stogies across the hall with a plethora of beer and cigar options! One stop shopping!)

In the cozy little Alpine Mall. I so enjoy the variety of affordable high quality variety of wines. Jessie does a beautiful job of pairing your needs with just the right beverage. Super helpful friendly service, shipping a case home to greet me after holiday!

Stopped for a couple cigars while on vacation nice place with a walk in humidor. Prices are reasonable. Also grabbed a couple of beers.

In search of a bottle of wine for our one night stay in lake placid we googled wine store in Lake placid and this was one the first place to show up. So so so happy it did. An adorable wine specialty store. I’m not sure who was working there the night I went in but she was amazing in her knowledge of wine and very easily presented me with several options in our price range. I ended up with two bottles instead of the one I went in for. And had we not been going home the next day I would have definitely spent more time in there. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Lake Placid.

Love to visit this store, they always have some very interesting beverages and often provide samples. Staff is always very friendly and very knowledeable about liquors.
Browsing is always fun, not an enormous selection but plenty of good choices and usually some great bargains too
