We had a awesome Tour on Lake Placid. The captain organized everything perfectly. We can recommend this boatrental and would book it again

For our second year in a row we were thrilled with the service and boat we received from Gary (owner) at Captain Marney's. Just like last year everything went great. Boat rental included water toys - skis and oversized tube, life jackets, etc. Delivery and pickup was right on time. You will be VERY PLEASED if you rent here.

We rented a powerboat from Captain Marney's and had a great experience. The boat was as described and the staff provided a helpful overview and tips. You need to reserve boats in person, so I recommend heading over to Captain Marney's once you get into town. You also have to pay via check or credit card but they are flexible if you need to cancel for any reason.

We did a boat tour for my Bachelorette trip and it was amazing! Captain Dave was so informative & fun! He made mine & all the girls day so enjoyable. 10/10 recommend booking with this company. Ask for Dave & you’ll have the best day!

We called weeks in advance to try to book, but were told we should just come the day before to reserve and put down a deposit. We did as instructed and had no issues with the booking experience. It took 5 minutes out of the day and was not a big deal at all. Staff was really friendly and made the process easy.
Once we showed up for the rental, we were greeted by the same friendly staff who showed us around the boat for a few minutes and sent us on our way.
Once we got out on the lake, we had an amazing time just cruising along and then tubing with the kids.
There is no better way to see and experience Lake Placid than on your own boat and the staff at Captain Marney's gave me no reason to think there is a better place to rent from.

The BEST customer service I've ever received. Rented two power boats for a week on Upper Saranac Lake and was thrilled at how responsive Gary (owner) was to our every need. For example, he made two special trips from Placid to USL to bring us additional water toys. And BTW, water toys were included in the price, so there were no petty charges. And, he had the best prices I found. Gary really embodies the notion of customer service and making sure his clients are happy.

This was a fantastic first boating experience for our family of five (3 teens). Water skis and tube included. Boats cleaned after every use. Masks mandatory. Staff very helpful on phone and in person. Cash only though, so plan ahead!

Great experience. Got same day rental on a small speed boat for tubing and boarding. Boat was very clean. Staff was pleasant and accommodating and very well organized especially with regard to COVID safety. Lake Placid was perfect for an experience like this. Beautiful and plenty of room for boating, tubing, etc. The whole family agreed this was the best part of our trip.

We were 2 families with 5 kids (age range 9 to 15) and reserved one of the deck boats. Did receive a call a couple days before saying that the boat we reserved needed repairs so we needed to change our timeslot for a little later. We were ok with that as Amanda (pink cast) recommended evening timing. Once on the boat, we had the most amazing experience on the lake while tubing and swimming. Lake Placid is such a beautiful lake.

I agree with the previous review about the rude woman with a cast on. She literally shouted at me on the phone when I was inquiring about a boat rental, shouted again when I left my $100 deposit, was rude yet again when I tried to move my reservation from am to pm, when my husband checked in, she was shouting about us not waiting in a parking lot around the corner. We followed all Covid rules by wearing a mask and waiting in the parking lot. We departed at 10:30 for our three hour tour which cost $500 and at 12:15 she called my cell phone and shouted at us yet again telling me that I am late returning the boat. the owner told me to retirn at 1:30. It was completely unprovoked and unacceptable on so many levels.
The young woman, the owner and the gentleman that helped us off the boat were lovely, but the woman running the show is forgetting that she is catering to people who just want to relax and have fun. In her defense, she apologized to me as I was leaving but it was way too late.
My recommendation is to find another boat rental operation that appreciates your patronage and greets you with a smile and not a bark! It is not worth the hassle to rent a boat at this operation... too hard.
