Trevlig nationalpark som är lätt åtkomlig från exempelvis Stone Town.

We went as part of a package, but this was by far the best part. Thabbit (not sure on the speeding) was energetic and very informative. He answered questions and explain about the plants and animals of the forest. He pointed out red colobus and blue as well as an elephant shrew. We talked about animals in the US (manatees) and what animals we hoped to see during our visits. Wish we could have stayed all day with him.

Jozani forest is a excellent place for a 2h tour. Plenty of monkeys, a lot of different plants and trees in the forest and mangrove forest make this place unique. It was a great time in national park!
If one preferes to go by hired car - way is easy and car park (free of charge) is available. We were on our own, 1 ticket for adult - 12$, guide (obligatory) included in that price. Everything could be paid at the reception.

Nette Abwechslung zum Strandleben

Sansibars einziger Nationalpark ist vor allem bekannt für den endemischen Sansibar-Stummelaffen. Daneben findet man hier aber auch andere Tiere, wie bsp. Weißkehlmeerkatzen, Buschbabys und zahlreiche Vogelarten. Die Vegetation ist von dichtem Urwald und Farnen geprägt. Wir nahmen an einer der vielen geführten Touren durch das Dickicht teil, bei der wir neben den Tieren auch einen imposanten Mangrovensumpf besuchten. Unser Guide war einigermassen fachkundig, aber nicht wirklich motiviert. Die Tour dauert rund 90 Minuten und ist auch für weniger sportliche Personen geeignet. Gutes Schuhwerk ist allerdings empfehlenswert.

Les singes sont adorables . A voir avec un guide officiel du parc. Visite des mangroves incluse. A voir!

Les singes sont concentrés sur une zone du parc assez petite car ils bougent souvent et toujours en groupes donc absolument à faire avec le guide officiel du parc pour comprendre où ils sont. Attention ça ferme assez tôt . Guides très professionnels qui parlent plusieurs langues. Singes très rigolos et pas peureux qui se laissent approcher . À faire, surtout avec des enfants. Visite des mangroves juste après, beau et impressionnant.

You have to experience it to believe it...the best experience ever...takes your breath away. Zanzibar can not be explained, it have to be experienced.

Attrape touriste cher pour ce que c’est

Nous pensions faire une jolie balade dans le parc mais première surprise le prix 25000 shilling / adultes (sur le ticket c’est écrit 10000), puis nous allons à la réception et attendons un guide avec un groupe. Ensuite direction voir les singes de l’autre côté de la route. Singes que nous avions vu sur le bord de la route en voiture. Ensuite nous retraversons et allons voir la forêt. Explications de 3-4 arbres et surtout arrêt dans la forêt de fougères pour se prendre en photo (environ 30 min la balade) ! Ensuite il faut reprendre ses véhicules pour aller dans la mangrove. Comme nous n’en avions pas, la visite s’est arrêtée pour nous.
Bref Si vous y alliez pour faire une balade, c’est raté. Si vous vouliez voir les singe, pas besoin de payer l’entrée ils sont au bord de la route !! Beau parc mais beaucoup trop cher pour ce qu’il y a à voir !

Amazing Nature

It was an incredible experience with our driver babli +255 756 983 368.We learnt about different trees and the life cycle of birds from eggs.most trees here are planted.cute interesting colobus monkeys.
Amazing walk in the mangroovesit was advised to stay 3 metres from the colobus monkeys and also not to feed them.
very lovely day.

Little tour big tip

Good for monkeys, geckos, elephant shrew and mangroves. Bad for the usual shameless Zanzibar behavior ie asking twice as much as the entry fee (12 dollars for 1 -1.5 hour tour) as a tip then arguing using the usual nonsense “ private tour more expensive” ( there aren’t private and group tours there’s just a guided tour) . After two weeks of endless rip offs round the island I’ll be glad to leave.

Super, als Teil einer Tour

Wir haben diese Tour als Privattour über Fisherman Tours gebucht und es war super. Unser deutschsprachiger Guide Omar hat viel erklärt und uns so viel Zeit mit den Affen gegeben wie wir wollten. Wir haben auch dort keinen Eintritt mehr bezahlt. Auch durch den Mangrovenwald sind wir in aller Ruhe geschlendert. Er hat uns auch an der Verkaufshütte vorbei geführt, aber offen gelassen, ob wir da rein möchten. Es war cool die Affen zu beobachten, die wirklich nah an die Menschen rankommen und auch die Mangroven sind toll anzuschauen!
