Great place for kayaking

I went for a kayak trip in the swamp. it is very peaceful and a great way to relax. There is plenty of wildlife to take photos.

Amazing Flora, Fauna, and a Safe Habitat

Whether it's the Ice Pond, the canoeing location near Green Chimneys, or the 10 mile river location, The Great Swamp is an amazing place to visit. Not only is it calm and peaceful, but it is full of wildlife and many plants. The air is pure, and the Great Swamp is one of the most beautiful habitats I've ever seen in my life.

Love the Great Swamp

The Great Swamp is one of the most beautiful as well as ecologically important places in Putnam & Dutchess County! Great hiking, paddling and bird watching. Friends of the Great Swam, Putnam County Land Trust, Dutchess County Land Trust and Oblong Land Conservancy do a great job promoting and protecting this wonderful place

Naturally Beautiful

For years my Niece has sent pictures of her children playing in this beautiful place. I visited with them the other day - and I felt it was a shame to call it a swamp! It has fresh water flowing and beautiful foliage. A lovely place to see.
