I unfortunately visited when nothing was in bloom yet, but the park was still extremely beautiful. It an excellent place for light hiking and walking. There’s a lot to see and a lot of beautiful stops along the way. You have to pay to park during the offseason, but I’m not sure of any additional charges during the peak season. The visitors center was also closed when I visited in the offseason.

Unfortunately I don't get to this park for a hike as often as I'd like but the times that I have made it, I absolutely LOVED it! My hubby & I went for a hike back in late May for the first time in a while & I was reminded of why this would be my go to for hikes if I had my way. We normally always stick to the trail around the lake. We've always had a peaceful experience while getting some much needed exercise in. There are usually just a handful of people we've encountered on our many visits over the past several years. There are other trails that branch off. We tried one a few years back but the walk around the lake is a nice flat simple trail & it provides us everything we need to be happy & feel good by the time we're finished!
There is a nice sized parking lot. I can't remember paying a fee in the past but this year they're charging $6. We paid thru one of the automated machines. There is a booth upon entering for an attendant but I'm not sure if that's still in use at certain times or not. Also there's access to restrooms before hitting the trails located where the parking lot is.
Oh, last thing - ROAD APPLES ALERT!! Watch your step around the lake trail. Horses get to use it too ;-)

Went on a frigid January day and even though it was freezing and I definitely wasn’t dressed correctly I’m happy I went. Surprisingly the walking paths were shoveled so it was really nice being able to walk all over the grounds and spend the afternoon outside. Highly recommend!

We took a lovely walk here on a fall afternoon and really enjoyed it. The trails are really very wide pathways and they are well marked, so it was easy to follow the trail. The network of trails in very extensive and they intersect in many places, so I'd recommend going to their website and deciding on the route ahead of time (that is what we did. With the trail we took (13 Bridges), the parking was a bit difficult to find, but quiet and free. The main parking lot does have an admission fee.
We would definitely try some of the other trails at the park.

Came here with a birding group. What a great discovery.Thirty miles north of NYC. 1700 acres and 45 miles of carriage roads through woodlands and rock outcroppings. Swan Lake, streams and wetlands. $6 fee per car. Restrooms available, no food to purchase. Very popular with runners. Go to their website before you go to have the best experience.

I am giving a 1-star rating to wake up the people who run the RSPP. Take my advice. DO NOT start hiking in the early evening because you could end up sleeping with the wildlife. The map is great, but many trails are not market. At every intersection there should be an arrow pointing visitors to the way back to the entrance gate along with the number of miles to the gate.
So please get your act together, whoever is in charge. Fix this issue and this will be a FIVE STAR review. The place is gorgeous and well worth the six dollar entrance fee.

Stopped here on a whim while in the area and so happy we did. We followed a stone path that took us through the woods to a lake and back to the main building which was a few miles in total. Really happy we decided to stop here and enjoy the nice sunny day!

Posti stupendo immerso nel verde, che ti dimentichi di essere al centro del mondo, peccato che per i miei gusti troppo affollato sopratutto pensando a quello che abbiamo passato!

This is a huge park with easy walking trails around the lake and over the rolling hills. The trails are marked and, if you pick up a map from the entrance, you can meander a while without getting lost. We spent a glorious afternoon admiring the foliage and walking around. There is a working farm inside the park so we took pictures with the grazing sheep and cows.

A huge park; 55 miles of roads, 1700+ acres.
Free parking.
Friendly, knowledgeable rangers in the administration building.
Plenty of hiking trails with varying degree of difficulties; mostly shaded walking areas.
Some trails better marked than others.
National Audubon Society has designated the park as an important bird area.

Can we go there with families, kids and do picnic? Can we take food and do barbeque there somewhere ?
撰写日期:2019年6月10日
There is no place to BBQ and no picnic benches. At Stone Barns, an organic farm and restaurant at the park there are places to sit and eat in a courtyard but only for sandwiches and a drink. This is not really a picnic place, though we do usually take a sandwich and a thermos. You should not sit in the grass as it is wild and there are Lyme ticks!

Where do we go to see the turkeys? Planning on going with our kids tomorrow and have never been before. Will the people at the entrance know where they are???
撰写日期:2018年11月2日
The earlier answer is correct.
We just found them and could not direct you to them. The entire entrance to the park is automated. Not sure if there is anyone on site to give advice.

Its definitely a wildlife destination. On the lake which is only a half mile from the parking lot, is home to cormorants, buffleheads, mallards, mergansers, great blue herons, painted turtles, snapping turtles, pond fish, and more. There are plenty of deer, coyote, fox, muskrats, raccoons, and many types of owls and birds you can't find most other places in Westchester. It is designated by the Audubon Society as an IBA (Important Bird Area) for its nesting wood thrush and worm eating warblers. Wild bees exist more abundantly at RSPP than maybe anywhere in Westchester. Wildlife is one of the reasons so many people come and why artists love the park so much.
