In the midst of looking for a certain winery, we stumbled on this place. It's a neat little stop, with a lot of info. This is the kind of stop I'd make like we did. Just a nice stumble on place to kill some time

This place is fascinating, local and friendly. Sanborn is an out-of-the-way sort of place but clearly has some history worth sharing. They once moved a whole building to preserve it!

If you're into form type Museum as this has a lot to offer. Lots of examples of old machinery and Barnes and the like. Certainly worth a drive by just to see what's out in the open. There are a lot of things inside as well it looks like.

We had a chance to visit the Sanborn Farm Museum as part of a car show on the museum grounds. Being raised on a farm in rural Albany County, NY I was very interested in seeing what the museum had to offer. I was not disappointed.
The museum houses a great collection of old tools. tractors and other farm implements from a long ago time. Some of the hand tools were similar to the one's I remember my dad using.
The old tractors on display made you think of how hard farming was back in that era as they resembled WWI tanks we see in old footage on the History Channel. I would imagine one of the hardest think was just keeping the tractor running. Especially during inclement weather.
There are lots of examples of period furniture including beds and spinning wheels. Made you really appreciate what we have now.
All in all it was a great , very entertaining day.

THis local history museum is in a new, air-conditioned home. It is full of everyday artifacts from the history of the area, showcasing daily life on a 1800s farm. Displays include transportation, homemaking, games, and a general store, as well as a barn fitted out with period implements. Docents are knowledgeable and friendly. Yes, there is a two-headed calf (stuffed) in the museum collection. In addition, it's free!
