Privately owned, owner has done much to restore the mansion. If the owner likes you he will personally take you on a tour. It is not generally open to the public. There is an active stable adjacent to the property if you like horses. There are peacocks which roam the neighborhood.;

Worth the trip to the other side of Staten Island. Very beautiful grounds and views. I hope the City of New York is able to keep it and start putting some money into it.

The house and grounds have been preserved by the occupant George Burke. He is the reason this unique house has survived this long. He donated the house to the New York City and has become one of the Historical Houses managed by the Parks Department Historic House Trust. Tours of the interior are given a few times a year and they are several outside events during the year to attend as well. Check their website for dates and fees. The fee to attend the events goes towards maintenance of the house and is tax deductible. It is well worth the trip to see an example of this type of Architecture on the 16 acres. Truly a unique experience. Do not miss it!

If you love old architecture, go check out the historic Seguine Mansion. It is a relic of the Island's proud past of beautiful stately homes.

This survivor of Stated Island's maritime past built on the shores of Raritan Bay should be on a short list of places to visit in NYC.
Although the house needs a total restoration inside and out, is is lovingly cared for by the family that donated it to NY.
Covered in non-original siding, the home of the Seguine family still stands thanks mostly to the man that saved it in the 1980s and then gave it away. The owner is still residing here and he is the reason for its 21st century existence and facilities.
The stables next door offer riding and lessons and there are numerous events during the year, as well. The interior is not open for visits since it is still used as a private home.
Still, if you love architecture of the period, this home is unique in NYC. Worth a Sunday ride.

Beautiful renovation of an historic mansion. Fabulous rooms with great detail of the period. Grounds are lush and well maintained with views of the bay from the balconies. Seguine Equestrian Center located on the property.

Tours and events are posted on the Seguine Mansion Facebook page. There is a nominal fee for tours. Fundraising events are also posted when available and open to the public. The is usually a White Party in the beginning of June.
