Good variety, surprising depth for such a small store. I'm used to the chainstore, 50,000 titles, lose yourself endlessly, and Market Block actually compares well. They have a good selection, and that feeling of chumminess and familiarity that the chains work so hard to get? Market Block comes by it naturally.

While on a Hudson River Cruise I finished the book that I had brought with me. I was in need of a bookstore. We found Market Block bookseller. It is a charming independent bookseller (with 2 stores). There was a delicious mix of bestsellers, local history, children's books, audio books, local artwork, and music CDs. I found the book I was looking for, and 2 more! What a treasure!

A great place to explore as an independent book store Market Block offers a great selection of titles for children as well as grown-ups. Well worth a visit.

What a great little local book store such a nice environment. I was in town visiting and found this driving by. I am a member to the book of the month club and there were so many book to choose from it was hard to pick. I ended up getting Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney haven't started it yet I'm finishing up The Gamblers Anatomy great read too I seen there.

After touring Albany for the day, we returned to Troy and decided to walk around the area by our hotel. We decided to stop in the book store. Nice store with lots of inventory. Staff seems friendly. Enjoyable place to browse. Better than the average independent book store.

Fabulous small book store that has a lot more inside than you could imagine. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, who leave comments and highlights near the books to help you choose. Lots of local authors. Some cute little quirky gift items too. Will quickly get anything they do not have in stock.

I love independent bookstores and we are lucky enough to have a great one here in Troy, NY! Great staff and wonderful selection. Make sure you visit if you are in the area.
