Without the Boatmen's association we'd be stuck on one island. They run a very efficient service ferrying passengers to the other islands and tours of others further afield. All weather dependant. All you need to know is turn up at the scheduled departure time and if they're running, you'll be taken to your destination. If a boat is full, they'll send another one. Unlike buses!

Fantastic trips to the islands. Boats were on time and communication about departures was clear. Great that some islands dropped out at one point and collected from another, meaning you could enjoy a nice leisurely walk along the islands and not have to do a full loop. Plenty of space on the boats and dog friendly too. Facebook page updated daily with the days departures, and also the boards along the quay. Very reasonably priced and loved the two island option. Experienced skippers who plan well around the tides. Prior to my arrival on Scilly, I was a bit sceptical about how it all worked, but it really is like clockwork and once you’re there it is perfectly easy to figure out. If you’re ever unsure just ask one of the boatmen and they will confirm where the boat is headed.
Luck of the drawer meant we were on the Meridian for all bar one of our trips, thank you to the skipper and crew for great trips.

Really we had a excellent trip with family.where the car service was fantastic and trip organizer Vikram bayya was good human being and we had good communication .when needed we will plan again in future with little adventure trip.All the best .

Well what can you really say about these guys? They are all totally awesome in my opinion . They make your trip to the IOS just so special, without them how would you get to the off islands and get that perfect Scilly experience?

What an amazing service the st mary s boat service is so friendly and helpful even for a person like myself who can find steps and getting on and off things hard alway patience helping find nothing to much trouble. Wonderful with children and the more mature customers. Carry bags cases dogs whatever up and down steps tgaf us what u gave witnessed this week

This is brilliant. We used the boat 4 day of our stay, went to Tresco twice, Bryher, & Bishop’s Rock lighthouse & wildlife trip, which is more expensive than the others. Most trips leave at 10.15am they have a great Facebook page which they post on every morning early telling which trips are going that day. Would definitely use again. Many thanks to all the boatmen.

Massive shout out to the Boatmen's Association who enable the tourists to get around the islands. Very relaxed and every board always arrives when and where they say. There is always room for everyone. Thank you. Their Facebook page provides all the sailings and returns every morning.

We are going to Cornwall for a couple of weeks in September and are looking to see if a day trip to Tresco Abbey Gardens was feasible. Grimsby to Grimsby!! would be worth a day out especially if we combined it with a couple of trips on the Scillion? What are the dangers of getting stranded for the night?

You'd arrive in Scilly about 12 - if you are on time and get off the boat sharpish, there will be a St Mary's boat going at 12:15. Returns are 2:30, 3:45 and 4:45. It might even be best to pick a day with a low tide in the afternoon, so you'll be dropped at Carn Near Quay, closer to the gardens.
