Permanent and temporary exhibits with works by local artists from different periods make this museum worth visiting. Great for families, as there’s a planetarium with shows throughout the day.

The name of the museum is "Hudson River Museum" and implies that it is centered on the Hudson River School art movement. While there are a few paintings reflecting that era, most of artwork is awful modernish stuff. It feels like they are trying to be "woke". They could have placed the Hudson River art in one of the separate areas so that we didn't have to search amongst the modern art to find the half dozen or so Hudson pieces. The Hudson pieces should be celebrated instead they are hidden.

The museum itself is more of an art gallery, but we really enjoyed the Glenview Mansion tour. It's a nice little piece of history tucked away in Yonkers!

I used to major in neuroscience at Temple and everyone always thought I was a genius when I said that!! I wanted to be a neurologist or radiologist because it sounded fun and they make a lot of money!! They say no amount of money can buy happiness but it can buy truffles and Michelin star food!! Anyway I realized I’m not smart enough for that so I changed to history!! I enjoy history and this is a history place!! I went on the house tour and it was very cool!! The house was massive and the lady was very knowledgeable of the different rooms!! The tour lasted 45 minutes and was 5 dollars!! I would say y’all should come here!! Y’all should come here!!

While my photos focus on the African American artist exhibit, this small museum has a lot to offer. Not only did they put on an EXCELLENT collection of African American/black art, but they had multiple other styles of art as well. Additionally, they have a planetarium, a tour of a classic house, and a section on the ecology of the Hudson River.
Please note some of these were closed due to the pandemic.
Ticket for an adult is only 8 dollars and there’s on site parking, so I would say definitely worth it!

A small, local museum along the Hudson River that shares the history of the towns and villages in this area. There is a planetarium and historic home as well as well as a exhibit on the river ecology of the Hudson, but those were unfortunately closed the weekend I visited because of the pandemic. The front desk staff were very welcoming and gave a great overview of the museum and where to start.

Visited this museum in early January and it was great! They had a number of excellent exhibits, all of which were of decent size and quite interesting. They have directional markers set up and capacity is limited but it was done in a way to make you feel comfortable and still welcome. I was also lucky enough to get a spot on one of their Glenview Mansion tours which are limited to 6 people to ensure social distancing. The tour is limited to 6 rooms on the ground floor but during the holidays the rooms are all beautifully decorated and the guide was extremely informative. It is very accessible from the city as walking distance from the Metro North Glenwood station. I highly recommend this museum with attached historic home.

The exhibit was marvelous. It was a womens' exhibit. Great variety, curated wonder-
fully.
This is a museum to come back to when we no longer have a Pandemic.

Fantastic art exhibit. Manageable in an hour and easy to social distance with only 40 people allowed during timed entry.
