Yesterday, my friend and I were walking on Main Street in Youngstown whe Susan Geissler invited us into her shop. We were immediately entranced by the lifesize sculptures of children and adults. When Susan realized we were from Lockport, she told us that she is the sculptor who is making THE LOCK TENDERS TRIBUTE which is a huge sculpture that will be placed in Lockport not far from where I live, right on the Erie Canal. Susan showed us the model, the original photograph, and what she is working on. It was SO interesting. Susan is friendly, modest an all around genuine person. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to meet her. This really is not an attraction, it is her personal studio.
