worst experience I’ve ever had. I never write reviews but this place was so horrible I had to. The concept of planning, organization, and caring about the guests is completely absent. We weren’t able to ski even after prepaying for gear and slope tickets because they are ill equipped. Their “administration” is an utter joke with an un willingness to help or show any kind of respect or understanding. No apologizes or refunds for a beyond miserable time here. Don’t waste your time and money with this scam.

Took a class with Jamie; She is an excellent instructor! She helped my girlfriend to become more comfortable and confident in her abilities snowboarding she was trying it out for the first time, and when it comes to teaching your significant other how to snowboard, the best advice is leave it to a Pro. I have snowboarded before and I’m OK, but it’s best to just pay the $$ and get tips from Pros. Jamie was patient, kind, knowledgeable, relatable, and professional. She had my girlfriend sliding down the bunny slope confidently in less than 15 minutes.

Beech mountain has no idea what’s going on when comes to real snow and the safety of its customers. Took 7 hours to get from beech mountain to the main road. Which is roughly 4 miles away. There were cars in ditches all over, and where was beech mountain? No where in sight. Go to sugar.

We’ve skied Beech occasionally for over 30 years. This was our first visit in 4 years. Overall, we were disappointed in many aspects of the experience, despite the upgrades made to some of the facility.
The pros: the terrain is diligently groomed and blown, runs are short but fun, there’s an expanded beginner area, the views are beautiful, the yurt bar at the top is a fun and novel way to take a break and grab a drink (and actually has staff who smile!), there is tubing and sledding available, the new ticket purchase and pickup process is quick and easy, the digital ticket verification system at the lifts works great, there are many options for types of tickets and the hours of operation are generous.
The cons: parking lots require quite lengthy and tiring hikes to the lodge areas, cars are allowed to accumulate on entry roads and block other cars, the village area is cute from the outside but old and basic on the insides, buildings are built on different levels of ground so guests must trudge up and down many stairways and gravel paths (that don’t receive salt to melt ice) to navigate to various services needed, lockers are all taken by lunchtime, it’s southern skiing- the slopes inherently have icy areas… it just depends on how much on a given day, there’s no sell-out point for tickets like other resorts enforce- so it gets ridiculouslyyyyy crowded- to the point of not being safe bc there are so many people stopped or falling on the slopes and causing longggg waits in lift lines, food service takes a long time and is inadequate for the crowds they allow.
All that being noted, here are our two main criticisms… (in hopes Beech may take note, lol):
Staff is the resort’s own worst enemy - most employees, at all areas of service, are untrained and unfriendly and don’t care about guest experience- whether directing traffic, taking an order, manning a lift, or patrolling the slopes. Even though money has been dumped into ticket and lift technology, there is NO effort to guide lines or monitor safety or at the least, be pleasant. (A bossy lady yelling about how to wear backpacks or she will kick you out is not helpful or an example of customer relations!) Riders end up in an undefined mass right before boarding a lift and have to figure out who is pairing up with who and in what order, which sounds easy but creates chaos/anger/and people not getting in place, so that riders fall off the lift or only 1 or 2 riders manage to get on a quad chair. (On 3 occasions, we saw riders fall off while boarding - the crowd had to yell at the lift operators to stop the lift before the person got hit by those on chairs behind them. They weren’t even paying attention.) The whole advertised purpose of the new tech and multi-person chairs is to maximize moving guests up the hill. At Beech, the process is so inefficient that it’s obvious that isn’t happening and is actually a safety issue. (On our last afternoon, we along with about 30 other people, all abandoned the line after waiting over 20 minutes and then another 25 minutes on top of that - bc someone fell off at boarding and caused the lift to malfunction, and no one arrived to address the issue.) Ski patrol was visible on the mountain and in lift lines but never even looked at guests. After cutting our day short, we went into the Tavern. Bar staff was efficient but unpleasant and we waited an hour for grilled cheese sandwiches. When we went to open our locker, the touchscreen wasn’t working and other guests had been unable to get anyone to help. The person who finally showed up with a manual key wasn’t nice. WTH?!?! We are chill, nice people willing to spend our money to enjoy our favorite sport for multiple days at a business that used to offer a fun and happy experience.
Beech -DO BETTER. If there had been an informative, pleasant staff member to offer ANY type of customer relations along the way, it would have made a difference. If safety had seemed even a concern, it would’ve been reassuring. Whoever “they” is says that organizations reflect their management….. Management needs to do better.
We won’t be back, as much as we’d like to support our local southern winter-dependent businesses. The joy of flying down a slope once every hour wasn't worth all the disappointing other aspects.

Ski slopes were well done. Staff at ticket window and at rental was very helpful. Staff at the lifts were attentive to all customers and were very effective at managing the lines. First aid team was very helpful to our needs.

I come to Beech Mountain every year with my kiddos- two of them are young. The reason we have to come Beech Mountain for 5 years is because of the free sledding hill. There are height requirements for tubing so the sledding hill is perfect. We even stay at a condo within walking distance of the hill. This year we arrived and the hill had no snow. The town has 3 snow machines for the hill and no website or social media that I located said the hill had no snow I understand the weather was warm last week and that’s the reason the snow machines weren’t putting out snow. However, all the sites about the sledding hill says it has snow all season. It would have been helpful to know the situation in advance. I had to spend $120 unexpectedly for tubing at Sugar Mountain (bc tubing was closed at the Beech Mountain Resort) and my 2 little ones weren’t able to tube. Sugar Mt requires an adult to tube with them & I am only one person so both little ones had to sit it out. This is the first year our mountain getaway was a bust. It would have been helpful to know the situation before traveling.

We enjoyed early week skiing at this ski slope. The 5 year old with us had a great lesson for his first time on skis. Other members of our group skied and snow boarded. The slopes were well groomed and the day was 100% enjoyable. The lift lines were very short.

We drove to Beech Mountain the day after Christmas for a five day ski vacation. We rented a house on top of the mountain and ski’s from Alpine ski rental (highly recommend) just outside the entrance to Beech Mountain Ski resort. The skiing was very good and the resort seemed to accommodate the heavy crowds pretty well. We would go again.

Worst experience I've ever had. DO NOT GO HERE! When we arrived we were stuck in a line to park for over an hour. There were no spots so we had to turn around and go to overflow parking. When we got there we had to wait in line for 40 min for our RESERVED tickets, then went to get equipment. Had to wait another 45 min to get equipment. Finally got all suited up to find out there were no helmets and my son's ski was incorrectly sized. After that, the kids started to melt down and we decided to try and grab a bite before we went on the ski lift. The line wrapped around the entire building for food and we couldn't get anything. Then someone told us that the ski lift line was an hour. At that point we gave up and left. When I got a hold of customer service today to explain that we never even skied this Saturday (1/23) she said they have a zero refund policy. She said they do not cap the amount of ski tickets and that if she gave a refund to me she would "have to give a refund the other 100 people that called and complained". What a nightmare experience we had and will never be back. Save your time and money and don't ever go to Beech. We drove all the way from Georgia and left without skiing one slope. How disappointing that they would treat people this way. They basically stole $300 from me and made my kids hate skiing.
This whole situation could be avoided in the future if they raised prices and capped the number of ppl that could ski. It would make everyone's experience so much more pleasant.
It was a ZOO on Saturday, I expected crowds but not this. How awful.

Is there a place that I can charge an electric vehicle? ie a 110v outside outlet
撰写日期:2021年12月13日
Can I get same day ski passes on site without planning in advance (and rent equipment), or do I need these more than a day in advance?
撰写日期:2021年1月27日
You can do it all there the day of. If Renting skis there, they will charge you that day and you have to take them with you is my understanding. Get there early when opening and you should be fine.

You can always directly check with the resort but around March

They keep the roads plowed very well but you should not consider coming without 4x4 or chains. AAA also. This is a very large mountain and the winter snows can be deep. Front wheel drive is not recommended without Chains.

How many parking spaces are there? Do we usually have to drive up there really early in the morning to wait for the parking, just like Ober Gatlinburg?
撰写日期:2017年12月30日
They have 3 parking lots that I saw. Best to get there early.

We are considering going to Beech Mountain for the 4th of July Fireworks. Before I buy the tickets I would like some feedback. Can you view the fireworks from your car or do you go to a particular viewing place? Will we need to bring our chairs? Is it extremely/uncomfortably crowded? Thanks!
撰写日期:2017年6月29日
I would like to add that even for all the festivals we've driven by, while crowded, none looked "uncomfortably" crowded.

The golf course is one of the most beautiful in the world. Awesome is not a good description. There are a lot of things to do in the area from hiking to horseback riding. I live here year round and I will never tire of going back to the fabulous mountain tops and beautiful water falls.
