This was an amazing waterfall. I would definitely recommend. Quite a few steps to get there but not too difficult. I would definitely recommend.

This water fall is so worth climb up many flights of stairs it just beautiful we went I. Sept perfect weather for hiking I had a complete knee replacement 8mo ago and I did fine on this trail

The path to the falls is short, but over 150 steps at a sharp incline so this would not be an activity for those with limited physical abilities. However, if you are ready and able to take those steps, it's totally worth it! The falls are beautiful and are framed by mossy green boulders and other vegetation. It's a thigh-burner for this mid-lifer in mediocre shape, but worth it!

Small hike up to a bridge looking up at very nice waterfall. Def worth the drive and hike - on of the tallest in the Appalachian mtns.

I will stay by saying this place is beautiful. I wish the stairs up to the waterfall wernt so deep. But it was worth it. There is a bridge at the bottom of the falls. But to get under the falls you have to hike across water and rocks and trees that are very slippery. But just standing and watching the the water fall from the bridge is awesome.

Easy to get to parking lot. Then you have 155 steps until they run out then some terrain walking. Not to top and it was beautiful to see the waterfall. Would not recommend for anyone with bad knees or breathing issues

A steep wall and not for disabled. But once you reach the end it will take your breath away. Amazing and beautiful. A must see !

What a beautiful waterfall. I first visited in 2010 and it was beautiful then. We hiked yesterday after some rainfall in the area. The waterfall was really flowing. It’s 150 steps uphill to a short rocky trail to the falls where there is a viewing bridge. Great view of the falls and the stream below. The steps and trail are wide enough for others to pass on the way up or back.
The access road is 1-1/4 miles south of Oconoluftee visitors center, then a short drive to Big Cove Road. The waterfall is about 3/4 mile past the new KOA campground. The parking lot is larger than it used to be as the campground at the falls has been abandoned.
We also met some elk walking along Big Cove Road on the way out. Beautiful creatures.

Definitely worth the steps and short hike to see! We had to pause a time or two as we went up the steps (bad knees), but glad we kept going.

Mingo Falls is a beautiful, tall waterfall. Plenty of parking. Short hike to the waterfall, maybe 10 mins. The first half is wide stairs then changes to ground. Trailhead is at the parking lot. Not good for strollers or wheelchairs. Well worth the short hike.

There is a a parking lot at the base of the stairs where you start the hike.

The hike is only about a half mile and is rated moderate. However if you have any type of mobility issues this is not for you. You begin the hike by walking UP 165 steps before reaching the natural terrain trail. There is a bench to rest at the top of the stairs before completing the short hike over a natural terrain (rocky and uneven) trail to reach the falls.

Not sure abou the official rule , didn't see a "Dogs not allowed" sign . More than that, on the day we visited we saw somebody with a dog taking pictures next to the falls, it was a small dog but yet ... a dog and nobody seemed to care or be bothered by that .The hike is so short and is so popular in a "commercial" way that I dont think the presence of a dog would make a difference !!
