Happy to see the warehouse was repurposed into business offices and retail. Beautiful red-brick masonry and ornate cornices. The day we visited, the interior shopping access was closed. We were able to enjoy the outdoor seating for a meal and shopping at AR Workshop. There were several outdoor venders. Several parking spaces with Pay Parking. We did find free street parking along the street behind the building.

What a nice area for shopping and trying nearby restaurants. Parking on the street was plentiful and only $3.00 for two hours (quite reasonable). It seems that all of the building was not occupied or is used otherwise for office space. However, you can find retail stores with interesting and unique finds.

Closed! Which the website neglected to mention. Complete waste of time right now. You’re better off doing towards the Central downtown area

It's basically closed but website did not say so. Only one restaurant, a jewelry store, and shop (which the staff were chatting with one person about things they like to do in the area but never acknowledged us). We kept trying to determine if we were in the wrong area. Finally a woman on the street asked if I was looking for something. When I responded, "Everything appears to be closed", she said someone had bought out the whole area and evicted most of the tenants with plans to remodel the area, but had not started doing so.

Some nice shops to walk around. The area is nice and the olive oil shop is wonderful. We just walked around a bit on a nice day. Walking distance from other nice places in Durham.

Many of the businesses in here are closed (or in the process of closing by the end of March) due to rent being too high for the amount of business they receive since CV19 began. Very disappointed since I have been a long time patron.

My dad is in Duke Univ Hospital so after I dropped my mom off to visit him, I needed to find somewhere nearby to go to pass a little time with my teen daughter. Looked in Trip Advisor and found this. It’s only a couple miles away from the hospital so it’s perfect for a quick getaway. Beautiful shady space, lots of cute unique shops and restaurants to peek into. The only downside is the shops close at 6p on weekdays. We arrived around 5:45, so we only had time to browse in one named Details. I wish we’d had more time! I loved Details; the owner was so kind and helpful, he showed us a few pieces but didn’t hover. His selection is nicely curated and it sounds like he’s got even more great stuff planned for the near future as he clears space for new items. I highly recommend you check out his shop, as well as the others in the square. Next time we visit, we’ll come earlier so we have more time.

Great pedestrian area close to Duke University main campus. Super relaxing area with plenty of choices of shopping and dining. Recommended

Brightleaf Square is unique. You can go there once and go back and find they have different stores and different items. It is like a treasure hunt. I love this place that holds a lot of history

Maybe you should visit it. You'll see plenty of niche shops in the area. You won't find a Walmart or Target here as this is a converted tobacco warehouse to accommodate shoppes and restaurants.
