Seriously I've never reviewed a welcome center but it's so fantastic I had to do it. If you're a military lover, especially Marines, this is a must see. The gentleman working there was so friendly and courteous. Tons of memorabilia and history of Havelock. Beautiful grounds and trails surrounding it. I highly recommend a visit to this great Welcome Center. Check out the pictures.

We did not go inside the tourist center as it was closed, but the planes and helicopters outside the building are well worth the visit if you are in the area. We spent about an hour outside checking it out!

We were welcomed right away when we walked in. Plenty of information boards on the area and some planes inside and out. We were welcomed to ask anything more if we needed. Definitely a good place to stop in.

We enjoyed our time at the Havelock Event Center and Museum. It is small but houses a lot of interesting information on aviation.

We did a budget beach run on Labor Day, and stayed in Havelock (about 30 minutes from Fort Macon). Our hotel was right in front of the visitors center - an easy walk. There are some amazing aircraft on display, as well as some other neat things to see. Worth a stop for Marines, and friends of Marines. Semper Fi!

We went to this tourist center and truly enjoyed the visit. The staff working where very educational on every display we had questions on. Very Nice

Attended the Women in the Military Salute on 14 June at the Convention Center.
Large place, sat more than 200 people, with 8 to a table, with a small ensemble band and a staging area for the MCAS Color Guard.
Class Act provided the food at $20 a plate plus the entertainment of MCAS Cherry Point, NC band ensemble and the Military program was put on by The Promise Place and local Women Marine Association (WMA) NC-2 Wings.
Before the ceremony there was time to review all the items available and a video. There are three aircrafts available to see on site and a jet at the head of the road announcing the Havelock Tourist Center.
Great place to let the kids check out the jets and helicopters and A/C while enjoying the display on aircraft and MCAS Cherry Point. Opens at 8:00 daily.Go ahead and Check it out!

We stumbled on to this place. For the boys, it was quite interesting but rather small. There was posted information but no one available to talk to or ask questions. There are some real planes displayed and other aviation paraphernalia. A good start for a museum.

We stopped for some travel brochures and a gander at the four static US Marine Corps aircraft (A-6 Intruder, RA-4 Phantom, A-4 Skyhawk, and a twin-bladed helo). The aircraft are in great shape and available for close inspection. The Visitor Center is well stocked with travel info for the local area and broader NC attractions. Also in the visitor center are displays on colonial Havelock and the emergence of MAS Cherry Point from the days of WWII unto the present. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the Havelock area.
