Amazing! The staff were super nice and the cracking your own geode selection was phenomenal! Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a hidden gem (no pun intended).

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here. The volunteer who ran the place was SO KIND, and so willing to teach about things (or give you space, if that's your vibe). It's a small museum (which I love--no overstimulation) with BIG heart. I totally recommend to everyone. Kids would love it, but I just went by myself on a boring wednesday afternoon and left in a fantastic mood.

We loved exploring all the wonderful items at this small, but interesting museum! The staff was very knowledgeable and gave us so many fascinating tidbits about the collection.

A hidden treasure that we stumbled on while shopping in downtown Hendersonville, Very interesting, lots of variety of stones and gems, the gentleman running it was very enthusiastic and best of all - it was FREE. Need to advertise it more so more people come.

Wow, the gentleman who was running it was so very kind and knowledgeable. The variety of rocks and stones was wonderfully. We had a lot of fun and will go back. We learned alot.

I would have paid to look at all that they had. We really like going to places like this. And seeing gemstones from different areas.

Definitely worth a visit! They have so many different stones/gems on display, as well as fossils. Very educational. Of course they also have stones available to purchase; geodes you can crack open, too! The museum is free, but they do accept donations. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

If you're into rocks and gems, this is a fun little must-see. It's not a large, but it's free and there was plenty to see in the small space. There are fossilized dinosaur eggs you can touch and a very cool glow-in-the-dark exhibit showing the rocks that glow under different light waves. Fun and informative!

When you are in doubt, you can always google MINERAL & LAPIDARY MUSEUM to find the hours, special closings, phone numbers, directions, etc.
Wednesday-Friday
1 until 5 p.m.
Saturday
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Museum is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day but open on Memorial Day, Labor Day and 4th of July.
