My experience at Ahlara was incredible. I enjoyed an amazing full 60 minute massage (so many other spas in the area only give a 50 minute massage but say it's a 60 minute). The rooms are beautiful and themed from countries in Asia. The place is quiet, serene, and peaceful. I also enjoyed shopping in the boutique and bought some items from Nepal and some crystals. As far as I can tell there is no comparison between Ahlara and the other spas I've visited in this area.

We have a hidden treasure right here in Mooresville. I was given a gift certificate from my thoughtful husband for Massage at Alahra. With 2020 having been an adventurous year. I, like so many folks felt like I could use a little nurturing. I found the spa to be just the ticket. From the minute you walk in the door you’re welcome by the friendly staff and showered with hospitality. My massage was with Robin who was focused on my needs - Excellent. Following the massage I spent a few minutes in there gift shop which includes a wonderful assortment of treasures including clothing, gift items, Unusual Jewelry, books, crystals, fragrances, and oils I’m all over the world. Owner Lynne Wiggins Has created a setting for health, healing and restoration. 2020 has been difficult for people to travel and get away. Alahra is a great opportunity for a mini vacation right here in Mooresville.

Two weeks ago I called and scheduled an appointment for 12:30. I gave them my home phone # and cell #. When I arrived at 12:10, I was whisked in and told that the appointment was for 12:00--that they had to change it and they texted me. I told them that I'd never received a text and they told me the number they texted--a phone number that I haven't had in 5 years. Apparently they didn't update my info when I made my appointment. They called my home line yesterday to confirm the appointment, but spoke with my husband and said nothing about changing the appointment time. That should have been explicitly stated. I tried to ask questions, but the front desk ladies were like, "Let's go, Let's go. We need to get started!"
About 3 minutes into the massage, I told the massuse that I was sorry, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind for a massage. I was very upset that they hadn't made contact with me. When a business makes a change to an appointment, they need to make two-way contact with customer. A text that isn't responded to isn't confirmation. Calling someone's husband to confirm an appointment and not mentioning that the time has been adjusted isn't acceptable.
I tipped the massuse because it wasn't her fault and I understand that this is her income, and spoke to the manager, saying that this shouldn't be standard business practice. She said that they did make contact with me and, "It seems there has been a breakdown in the communication." That's not even true. THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME THAT THE TIME HAD BEEN CHANGED. They sent a text to cyberspace and said nothing to my husband about it. The manager could have at least said, "I'm sorry. We regret this happened." She was very unprofessional and nonchalant. She could have cared less. She did nothing to try to make it right.
Ahlara's handling of this situation was rushing me into a spa experience and telling me that it'd only be cut short by 5 minutes.
This was on our anniversary weekend. What a bummer.

We went to Ahlara for girls day before my friends wedding this weekend and oh my goodness I am so happy that we did. All 3 of us had the Shanti Journey. I started with the Pada Paradise with was a foot soak and a great way to start a spa day. I then had the Mani Stone Massage and even though this was not my first stone massage it was my first in America and it was so different to what we get in Australia, and so much better.
The highlight of my day was definitely the Wine Down Wrap. I was rubbed head to toe with sea salt scrub, then after I was painted with a blend and then wrapped in plastic and floated in their dry float bed. It was the most amazing thing I have EVER done, am hoping to find something like this back in Australia, but I do know that I would recommend it to anyone and will be back again next time I am in America.

I really had high hopes for Ahlara after reading all of the rave reviews but sadly it fell short. The lobby is beautiful and it does very much transport you out of good old Mooresville to a tropical destination but it was pretty much down hill from there. The sandals that they have you use (you drop your shoes at the front door) are showing their age. This continued with the robes as they are pretty well worn and rough. The "zen" room is quaint and serves cucumber water but it was just sort of ho-hum as you sit there and stare at the hallway. The message rooms are very nice and the sheets, I must admit, are to die for. Simply amazing. The massage, however, was lack luster and was not as relaxing as I had hoped. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful, just average and certainly not worth the monstrous price tag. If you are the type that is more into ambience than a great massage, this place may work for you. If you are willing to sacrifice the tranquil setting for a higher quality massage, there are better options in the lake area.

As Mooresville's privately owned/non-franchised spa we take feedback from our clients very seriously. We reviewed our sandal and robe situation and found a few ready for replacement and those are due to arrive any day. We are the only spa in this area that offers a beautiful ambiance along with robes, sandals, full 60 minute massages, a "Zen Den," dry saunas, a dry float bed, and much more to help make your experience unique and special. Even in offering these, our prices are very competitive with other spas in the area - even with "strip center" spas who offer minimal amenities and 50 minute "hour" massages. And specials are available on many days. Our therapists love feedback during your massage so they can tailor the experience to what you request. Thank you again for the great feedback and I hope you will return to us in the near future!

My husband gave me a gift certificate for an hour Swedish hot stone massage. From the moment I entered I was transformed into a Zen state of relaxation. The linens were warm and soothing, the dimly lit room added to the entire experience. My massage therapist was wonderful and was aware that this was my time to drift into another world. I'm already planning on another trip very soon.

I visit Ahlara as often as possible for massages. By far the best in Lake Norman and so much more unique than the "chain" type spas in the area. A truly special experience. I've gotten great gifts for my wife from the store as well!

I have been getting monthly 60-minute Swedish massages at Ahlara for several years and am never disappointed. I've also had a couple of pedicures, body scrubs with time in the awesome dry float bed, and Brazilian waxes. All top notch!
When you walk in the door you are greeted by smiling faces and various wonderful smells and sights from the boutique that sells everything from clothing, soaps, lotions, bags, incense, etc. In the lobby you change into "zendals" (flip flops) and are lead to the back to the locker room that has a separate bathroom and shower to change into a luxurious robe and then go to the relaxing Zen Den to wait for your service provider to come get you for your service. You can help yourself to water, tea, mints or a magazine in the Zen Den while you wait. I like having a locker room to change in rather than having to change in the massage room--it's a nice pampering touch.
I am so happy to have Ahlara close to my home/work and always recommend them to anyone I can.

Very pleased that we have this establishment available in our area. The décor is peaceful and nourishing. The staff is professional and skilled. A comfortable setting for men and women.

My husband always gives me a gift card to Ahlara for Christmas and birthdays. I love the manicure/pedicures, have had a facial and massage before. So quiet and relaxing. Brandi is my favorite nail tech.
