It was fun to ride around in a squad car (even got to use the lights and siren) and hear some local color. It’s short and gives you an overview so you can go back and check out the things you are interested in.

We spent part of the day in Mt. Airy while passing through the area. The car and the driver Steve made this so much fun and it is very informative. Be sure to check it out if you are going to be in Mayberry. We highly recommend it.

The tour was a good overview of the town. It was nice to have a driver that was actually from Mt. Airy.
It was a little expensive (we had read $40 but it was $50 for up to 4 people). It was fun to ride in an antique car but be aware there is NO air conditioning so it was hot and a little hard to hear the driver speak. They spent a little too much time on the quarry. Finally, be aware you pay the driver directly after the tour and they don’t take credit cards!
It would have been nice to have the option to be dropped off at the Andy Griffith Museum.

Took my youngest two on this tour, as we passed through Mount Airy on our way from WV to Winston-Salem. They have never seen the Andy Griffith Show, but the tour was fun nevertheless. Our tour driver, Don, was a great guy and grew up in Mount Airy, so he had lots of info to share.

A very fun trip around town! It was a very comfortable ride and we learned things that we hadn't heard about on our previous trips to Mt. Airy. Enjoyed hearing the siren for a few seconds and the looks that we got from pedestrians! Be sure to check out the sheriff's office/justice of the peace office next door!!

Highly recommend 👍🏼 We really enjoyed our tour. Our driver was fun and knowledgeable. Wally’s station was a good visit and the Mayberry Courthouse replica is next door.

Our favorite part of our visit to Mt. Airy was the squad car tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the town and the Andy Griffith show. Prior to the tour, I didn’t realize how much of the show was based on real people in Mt. Airy. I highly recommend the tour if you are visiting Mt. Airy.

A Must to get the "Mayberry Experience". Tour guide made our trip so enjoyable and was so knowledgeable about all things Mayberry. Lots of good fun.

Where do we park in town? Can we see s lot on the walking tour?

We parked in town and walked around there are parking lots, you can walk to the gas station to take the police car ride but it's a bit of a walk so if someone is not able to walk at least half a mile then I suggest you drive there it's all the way through town on left.

The cost is 40 dollars(Cash Only) for up to five people. If you like Open Pit Mining, that is what you will learn on the tour. You will have a chance to visit houses and business's made from the Granite!! The tour it's self is about 20 minutes long and has very little to do with the cast of The Andy Griffith Show!! My suggestion, save your money, its not worth 40 dollars!!

If your question is "what are the names of staff at Mayberry Squad Tours?" I cannot answer that. I have no idea. So sorry! Our driver was very friendly and informative but I don't even remember his name now.

It's about a 30-45 minute drive through the town> theybshow you all the shops & barber shop and Andy's birth/ home place in which can be rented to stay in. It's a great ride!! I'm sure your husband will really enjoy himself!

We called to reserve a time and then paid when we arrived at the station. I would highly recommend that in the event that it's a busy time. Enjoy and have fun!

We will be visiting in June of 2015 and would like to know how to dress for the weather. Also, there will 4 of us all over 55 and my mother is over 75 will this be difficult for elderly? Third my husband is very tall... 6'4... will it be difficult for him to fit in the car? Last, is it necessary to make reservations?

The car will fit your husband. I am 6'3 and sat in the front seat. The entire tour is very relaxing so I don't think that any of you will have any problems while you are on the tour.
