Even if you are not a Mayberry fan, this is a fun barbershop that gave me a good haircut. If you are a “Floyd” fan, then the shop will evoke some nostalgia and the barber, Jeff, has stories to tell.

Just stopped in and Loved it ! great guys in a Great place. Sooo much history. you just have to stop in when you are in town. The walls are filed with lots of old photos and you can grab a T-Shirt or two while you are there.

Inside, though not an exact replica of Mayberry’s Floyd’s Barber Shop, was period true. Chairs are as they would have been in the day with the addition of a child’s chair. Bill will give you an education on the history of the items and is more than happy to pose for pictures. A “must visit” if you find yourself in Mount Airy, NC.

A great place to visit, especially if you're an Andy Griffith Show fan. Just stopped in to chat with the gentleman. The man holding down the fort was very kind and had fun stories to tell. Don't be shy to walk in and say "hi" whether you need a haircut or not!

Had a wonderful visit to Floyd's barber shop. It was great hearing stories about the shop and how many of the characters in the show were modeled after actual people in Andy's life as he was growi g up in town. The shop and barber really have that southern friendly hospitality and feeling. To make the visit even better he gives a great hair cut at a reasonable price.

Went to my regular barber on Franklin Street and he was closed with no explanation in the window. I decided to try Floyd's out since I was just around the corner. Glad I did. It was mid-afternoon during the week, no waiting, great haircut and conversation, and reasonable price for the cut! Highly recommend Floyd's, and lots of cool pictures on the wall.

This was a little stop on our tour of Main Street, Mount Airy. We didn’t go inside, as it is an actual barber shop, not just a tourist attraction. Still cool to see👍🏼

Had my haircut here 2 days ago. Barber did a good job & we talked a lot. Also spoke with the son of the barber who was the inspiration for "Floyd the barber".

I'm sure if Mr Floyd was still around you could, but God rest his soul, he has passed, his son keeps the barber shop open on his behalf for tourist. I know their is a lady there that cuts hair, in the year and a half we've lived here, I've never seen any one receive a shave.

Hello, couldn't find hours on any sites I checked.I did get you their phone #.1-336-786-2346. The shop was closed when we arrived in town,we walked a bit, ate lunch at snappy diner,when we walked by later they were there. You could call,I'm sure they open at some point,It's a working barber shop.Hope this helps you.
