A grand adventure!

What a great day at Salty Dogs Mine!! We found so many treasures to bring home with the first family plan, I had to get another!! Visit and enjoy the great host such as Conner and Mrs. Debbie! Thank you guys for the great adventure day you helped us achieve!! We will be back with a picnic and more kids to mine again!! We also look forward to coming back and seeing what other fun activities you have to offer our family!

Amazing place to gem mine!

We were on vacation and looking for something fun for the kids to do. We were fortunate enough to stumble across the Salty Dog Gem Mine. The people are super friendly and helpful. Price to gem mine is affordable! The kids had a blast gem mining and paint balling. If you are looking for a family fun, you need to check this place out. My kids are still inspecting and comparing their new found treasures.

Great fun for kids

We were a little skeptical of this place at first, it was empty after opening time and no employees, but, they showed up 10min after opening and made up for their lateness with their friendly customer service. The prices were very reasonable and the kids had fun mining for gems and paintballing.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your awesome review. We really appreciate your support. Recently we transitioned to our fall schedule opening at 11 rather than 10, so there may have been some confusion there with the staff, but I am glad everything worked out, and ya'll were able to enjoy the day. We hope to see you again!

Something for everybody!

This is good family fun. Pan for gold, sluice for gems, wildlife too! Now you buy these bags of dirt/gems....no digging in a hillside or cave. Very clean restrooms. Go to Field of the Woods first, then a few miles up road(RT 294) see sign, turn right....just keep going!

Great Time

This a cute "diamond in the rough" place. We are 5 Florida moms on a weekend getaway. We enjoyed gem mining and gold panning. The Staff is very friendly.

Great fun for littles

Our 4 & 5 year old girls loved mining for gems (we did the big girl bags. Not the treasure bags). The part I loved the best was that each girl walked away with a ring, necklace, bracelet and gem collection (about 10 gems each?) that were fairly equal to each other and very pretty and sparkly. Service was great. Not the fanciest place in general, but it is what it is. Clean bathrooms and shade. We did putt putt, bouncy house and gem mining and it only took about an hour. Still fun and the girls are playing with their gems hours later.

Thank you so much for this detailed and very kind review! We definitely have a rustic, simple decor LOL but we wanted to keep it old fashioned - including using wood milled from our trees - so I am very glad your family enjoyed it. Fun!!! Owner Debbie so friendly and inviting! She makes every effort to make sure her guest have a good time. If you're looking for the the "big city, lights and glam" it's not for you. But it is great family fun!

Great place!

We went not knowing they were not open because they are seasonal. The owner Debbie took us to the gem mine anyhow and we all had such a great time. My 6 year old and 13 year old sons are still talking about all the wonderful gems they found. We are definitely going back again! Would highly recommend to anyone.

A Great. Place To Take The Grand Kids

We took our son and his family here Labor Day Weekend. It was very enjoyable for every one. The staff was great and very helpful . Lots to do from sifting for gold and gem stones to paintball and browsing and buying unusual articles in their very quaint gift shop.
